I think Johnny Manziel would be a good pick for the Texans. He's the type of dynamic player that could put out that dumpster fire

My mistake pushing a coach.

I meant the only thing I brought up that wasn't fact.

Both go under bad body language and I said that's what it looks like. Didn't say it was definitely happening.

No. I haven't made up anything.

I was incorrect on a fight between Manziel and a GA. Call it a confrontation since Manziel just shoved him then.

The first pick worries me. I would hate to be the Texans. Do you pick the Scar D-lineman, who from all reports looked lazy this year? I didn't really watch many USCe games so I can't tell you if that's true or Do you pick one of the QBs? We know Manziel will sell tickets and be fun to watch but does him or Bridgewater deserve to be number one? I would trade it. I would either pick up that O-lineman from A&M or trade for more picks. I would say I would love to be Cleveland but then again its Cleveland.

I just don't see it. Aggie fans on here seem to believe they won't take a step back without him? Average SEC Ds shut him down. I'll say it again, he will never be a great NFL QB. NEVER.

Future flop. He got away with a very average arm in college. Not in the NFL. If he actually goes in the first round, he'll be a bust.

I'm not QUITE that confident, but he will certainly have to adjust a LOT. His highlight reel, run around for 10 seconds then spin around a chuck up a deep bomb routines will either a) get him BLASTED by a pass rushing LB/DE or b) get picked off a majority of the time.

I'm with vodkacop about that #1 pick. The super early picks, especially when looking at QBs, are very treacherous. It's usually not a good situation for the player to step into (thus why the team is picking first, unless it's a trade), and now he is expected to flip a team around completely. The one good thing about the Texans is that they appear to have a lot of pieces and just need a QB to bring things together.

To say a college QB will be a bust ain't a hard leap to make. Most of them will be. tbh how many Hiesman QBs turned out to be great? How many college QBs turn out to be great? Hardly any college QBs even make it to the NFL and then you have, what, maybe 5 or 6 a year that will be great when its all said and done? That being said, I think, and I'm kicking myself for admitting it, Manziel will be fairly decent. Not great but better than average. Also, if you don't think A&M takes a step back with them losing your great o-lineman, your receiver and your QB, then you need to take off the rose colored glasses. Also I don't remember any average D's shutting down Manziel for a whole game, that's crazy and who cares who he threw it to, it was caught. Maybe he doesnt make that throw if he doesn't have confidence in his WR.

we will be fine here also

your QB,
won't be as good as manziel but will still be good enough with the rest of our offensive pieces

Offense will be fine and will still easily be one of the best of the conference, depends on the defense

I did mean on the field. Why the hell would you say that Manziel is not mentally tough on the field? The guy is a rock. He never gets rattled. He never quits. He talks shite, but so what? Lots of players talk shite. That's no indication of a lack of mental toughness. Mentally weak players quit, and start fighting with their teammates, and get scared at the critical moment. Manziel is the opposite of that, in every regard.

Agreed. I think the kid is a self-centered douche, but there isn't an ounce of quit in him.

Manziel does not have an "average arm". Can he throw it 70 yards? No, but by that standard John Daly should have won every golf tournament he ever played in. Drive for show, put for dough. Manziel has a strong arm but more than that he has a very accurate arm.

Many LSU folks point to their games with him (which is valid on several levels) but those were also the 2 worst games of his career and he had a broken thumb in the 2nd one which greatly affected his accuracy. I don't think you can point to those games as the picture of Manziel any more than you can point to one of his best games as the entire picture either.

The truth is that teams tend to draft the highest potential guy even if he may blow up. No one wants to miss on Michael Jordan and you are more "forgiven" by reaching for that guy than passing.

I also think Manziel is going to kill it at the combine. He is an amazing interviewer as anyone that has watched him can see. He will do well on the Wunderlic (he won't get a 50 but he will be respectable). He will likely be one of the faster QB's. He will do well in the QB drills. His negatives will be his physical measurables and I have no idea what his weight training scores or other athletic scores will be. For QB's though they advance a LOT based on those interviews and Wunderlic. A team wants to draft a smart guy that comes across as a leader and can handle the pressure of being a Top Draft Pick.

The last one to be above average was Carson Palmer.
