Yeah, because its not like half of the state doesn't sit below Memphis. Parts of western Arkansas can be said to have a "southwest" influence, but you're smoking midwestern meth if you think Arkansas isn't a part of the South.

50 miles north of Fayetteville the corn starts creeping in. Then its balls to the wall midwest til you hit Canada.

The lines were drawn where they are for a reason.

At one point, Arkansas was a southeastern state with a university football team playing in a southwestern conference. Our secondary fight song used to be Dixie for frick's sake. We changed that in '69 because we are a little more progressive than some people, but it is our heritage.

Nobody has ever thought Missouri was a southeastern state with a university playing football in a midwestern conference.

I have been to Arkansas. Its not southern. Its a hybrid.

It doesn't mean shite and shouldn't define you personally but I see your panties are squarely entrenched up your arse over the issue.

Hog fans are always trying to latch on to things to help define them and contrast them against the forgettable entity that is the State of Arkansas.

No. Sheldon did not "frick up". We have been getting slapped around all summer. Its time somebody showed that they had some balls. I wouldnt mind of a couple more players did the same.

They may think they have some balls now but let us see where they finish. I am not saying how Mizzou will do because I really do not know. Just better to under promise and over deliver that do the opposite and lose more respect in the process.

I agree. Its time for the games to do the talking.

This forum has given almost ZERO respect to Mizzou so it really is a wash in the end.

Honestly. I think Mizzou fans could care less if other SEC fans respect them or the program at this point. I most certainly think no one gives a rats arse what posters of this circus of a forum care about Mizzou.

I must agree... They have allowed too many cuttlefish on the team as of late.

It is hilarious, because the people that are most adamant about us getting stomped have never watched a MU game!

kilo,

From the outside it is both sides. Problem with the SWC / B12 is that they created such animosity and distrust that the schools came in on the defensive in the first place. I remember Arkansas, and I see it happening now with TAMU and Mizzou. South Carolina seemed quieter and they got along better earlier. Heck, some Hog fans on here still carry the SWC burden like it was yesterday.

Don't think that is entirely true and I for one think A&M and Missouri were solid additions to the SEC. At this point I would say both teams are as good as any team in the SEC not name Alabama or LSU. I would guess Arkansas will be 3rd in the West but that remains to be seen. And the East which has been traditionally pretty strong, is down so I would say Missouri as as good of a chance of winning the East as anyone. SC and UGA are probably the favorites but neither team look particuarly strong in the first week.

Here's to an injury free game Saturday because we are so shallow with just 70 scholarship players that we definitely can't afford any injuries.

You don't get respect for joining Tigerdroppings, you get respect by winning SEC games.

I agree. I think there is some baggage coming along with our move.

In all fairness, at least around here, no Mizzou fan came on here thumping their chests about anything. We were thanlkful and looked forward to the competition and camaraderie of the SEC. From day one asshats around here have flammed, and ridiculed Mizzou endlessly. Mizzou fans finally had enough and now fight back. Its a natural reaction to the constant sound of retards being retards. (Fight fire with fire)

There is a similar dynamic with the players themselves. The Media, talking heads etc are all giving them no chance to have a decent season. They are tired of hearing the nonsense as well and react accordingly.

Do I like Big Shel's comments? No, not the week of the game. I do, however, understand what has fueled and motivated him to react that way.

As a UGA fan I am a little nervous about this game. UGA didn't show Boise St. how the SEC plays, and not to mention the suspensions of great defensive players. Use this fuel DAWGS and stay poise!

Please put it in the context if you will. Kthxbye

I would say this link PUTS IN IN CONTEXT...

Oh ok. Here's some context for you...

Original quote..“If we execute, nobody in this league [the SEC] can touch us. Period.”

Previous cherry picked quote.....

Eta: Mizzou can definitely beat UGA. But suspensions are lifted, so I'm not seeing it. But the comment about nobody in this league can play with them....wow.

There's is a big difference between what was actually said and what was used in a post for flaming. "If we execute" meaning if, maybe, not always, could happen, may not, if not we don't execute we won't dominate anybody......

Clear enough?

I hate to tell you, but if you think you've been flamed now... just wait until you lose your first SEC game. You cuttlefish need your skins thickened up a bit.

Were not the ones bent out of shape by being "disrespected" about quotes from Sheldon Richardson.

If we have to thicken our "skins" so do quite a few posters around here as well that are completely bent about Mizzou fans having an opinion.

"Goose and the gander" and all that shite.

Pretty much.

All in all, I LOVE THIS LEAGUE. Becaese we are passionately talking shite about the GAME ON THE FIELD, not the distrust, backstabbing politics and money.

Whatever happens on Sat, it will be grist for the SECr mill and the great thing is everyone gets to tee it up in 7 days and (re)prove themselves.
