I would be really surprised if Texas doesn't make a more diverse hire.It would not sit well with the Texas fans if a white dude got the most money of any coach in the country in a sport that is mainly white dudes. The city of Austin absolutely despises white men unless they grovel at the feet of any minority and women.

I live in dallas bro. My useless arse brother in law lives in and embraces everything about Austin living. I have to help him take care of his kid because his useless Austin arse won't goto work because "frick the patriarchy". I'm honestly surprised he hasn't killed himself to rid the world of a whitey.

OP's rumor details make it hard to believe. Texass is not going to pay any HC $3 mil to coach baseball, a sport that loses money at Texass (like most places.)

You are shorting Texas on Championships. Augie and Gus both had 2 each. We have 6 NC and 6 runner ups and have been to CWS 38 times (easily the most) and the most wins in the CWS (88).

The comparison was the first 8 years of each coach vs what Pierce has done in 7/8 years..
