yes, it is quite different.

Hell, most golf teams in college will drop you from scholarship if you don't average under a certain score for the year.

So there is a numerical bar set, as opposed to a mythical bar to make room for someone who has not achieved it

And yet, if your holier than thou approach to anit-oversigning and cutting was genuine you WOULD have a problem with this.

please point out my holier than thou approach. I love it when people try to tell me what I believe in or think

Either get better, try your hardest, or start studying more and get an academic scholarship.

Exactly... If a kid on academic scholarship doesn't make the necessary GPA he loses said scholly... Same should go for an athlete... If you don't produce athletically then why should you not lose said Athletic scholly ? Coaches are alway talkin about helping these kids mature into young men and be prepared for the real world... That's the real world... If you don't perform your assigned task and meet your responsibilities , you will be replaced

Tell me, if you do not have a holier than thou approach to this then what is your exact problem with it?

the problem is there is no specific bar like any other scholly. sometimes the mythical bar is lowered for a specific player/s in order to make room from one year to the next.

The real problem is the NCAA rules for transfering to other schools when cut

You do know this rule applies to all ncaa sports not just football. Even the sports you said "are different". You just have zero clue

While I agree with that sentiment, I think that in football in differs a little because "production" is more subjective. A GPA is a set number that a student has a goal to achieve. A scout teamer in football can be just a valuable to a team as a starter sometimes, so you have to have set guidelines for each athlete to meet in order to justify getting the scholarship taken from him. If that is already being done at Bama or anywhere else, and they are holding those athletes accountable; then that would be a level playing field.

He will probably win it. BuccWild might give him a run at it with his homer recruiting predictions. Maybe I should start sunshine pumping Auburn so I can get in on this.

He said that there are "rumors" that Chance Warmack will be the #1 pick in this year's draft. A couple of Alabama fans quickly shot down that claim in an effort to stop the homerism.

Chance is the #1 player in this draft. Won't be #1 pick at all. But he may go in the top 10, which for a guard is sick.

It's gonna continue until the NCAA closes up the loophole that "none of the players that are signed on NSD count against the 85 until they enroll in the fall". Even if the "95" were true, as far as the NCAA is concerned, Bama has 70 on scholly as of now...As long as it's legal someone will do it...

No team will "waste" a #1 pick on a Guard. It just ain't happening. The highest Warmack will go is #4.

Has it been stated that we have a few guys in this class that probably won't qualify?

Unfortunately, if that's the case, those players STILL count against the 25-ship per signing year count.

That's precisely why we didn't send Derrick Griffin an LOI.
