It takes a unanimous vote to gain admittance into the SEC after you have been recommended by a school.
Just curious, does it take a unanimous vote or a majority vote??

I don't see a lot of top teams like Clemson, FSU, OU, Texas, etc wanting to join the SEC. Don't think they wan the challenge.
I can't speak for the other "top teams," but Clemson would sacrifice a live child at the 50 yard line if it got them into the SEC. They believe that they should be in this conference, and have convinced themselves that they're deserving cos Auburn, LSU, and UGA have rolled over for them. Thanks, guys.
I hate the SOBs, and they screwed the pooch back in the late 60s when they were going to leave the ACC, but they'd do damn near anything to get into the SEC.

I'd always heard it was unanimous.

Has nothing to do with not wanting "the challenge." It has everything to do with competing for titles year in and year out.
FSU out recruits SEC programs on a yearly basis. There is literally no advantage for FSU to jump ship to the SEC as long as FSU has the ability to compete for titles every year in the ACC.

Yes FSU in the SEC makes cultural and geographical sense. They recruit the same players. Playing quality SEC schedule will legitimatize FSU even more and the program will take off as one of the CFB elites.

Twenty years ago? Yes!
Today? No!
Today? No!

Troll you? Was anything I said factually incorrect? No. The facts prove FSU has an elite baseball program, just as they prove SC does not win it all every time they reach the CWS. Just because you don't like these facts does not change them.

Technically you need 3/4 vote to gain admittance, but Mike Slive has gone on record as saying he requires unanimous votes for realignment.

Useless topic cause FSU wants nothing to do with playing a full SEC schedule.

The ACC Grant-of-Rights agreement has rendered (through 2026-2027) any departures from ACC financially impossible.
Not going to happen.

The ACC's grant of rights makes it untenable financially for a school to leave, guaranteeing in the 14 years of the deal that a school's media rights, including revenue, for all home games would remain with the ACC regardless of the school's affiliation.
Not going to happen.

It sounds a HELL of a lot more fun than:
Sept. 6 Sam Houston State, Baton Rouge
Sept. 13 Louisiana-Monroe, Baton Rouge
...
Sept. 27 New Mexico State, Baton Rouge
A 9 game conference slate and one major OOC requirement would go a long way in solving this. Both of which are favored by the SEC commissioner.

Trick question? Some of you folks need to wake up and smell the coffee...do your home work bor something...this has been beaten beaten and beaten time after time.
UF, UGA, USC, UK all have gentlemens agreements to vote against any inclusion of the girls school, Clemson, Ga Tech or Louisville. Why water down the product? All of a sudden the girls school is playing in BCSCG....look at ALL the underachieving they have done the past 10 years.
Not only NO.....but HELL NO.

The sec already has elite baseball programs. Programs that have titles. Not high winning percentages "TITLES"!!!

They are in the perfect conference. They can recruit with anyone in the country and face cupcakes week in and week out. Florida State can win 10-12 games a year and not even play at an elite level because they out man everyone in that conference by a mile. Florida State will never leave the ACC. If they did join the SEC though I would be fine with it. Would love to watch them play the South Easts finest on a weekly basis.

I say NO! They, and Miami were offered for the '92 expansion when SC and Ark. joined. They were independents at the time and were both in their glory days, so they declined. Then, a year or two later joined the ACC and Big East. I have considered them both SCARED organizations since and have NO respect for either. FSU can stay in the ACC where they dominate the pillow fights on a regular basis.

No we're a 14 team league now so they would need 10 votes to get in and there not getting a vote from USC,GA,UF,or Uk off top so it would be damn near impossible for them to get in. I can tell you if Bama said yes the rest of the league will not follow behind them on it.
UF and USC have been tangling with FSU since way back so they would certainly be the first two to vote against it.

Lol. Is anyone around that was there 20 years ago? I mean I don't hold it against LSU for being a SCARED organization for backing out of playing A&M mid contract because we were whipping your arse so consistently...

I make zero profit from college football. Money is not a concern to ME when someone asks if I would support a team entering the conference.
it is if you want the SEC to remain the #1 conference.
more money = better facilities/coaches = better recruits = more winning = more money
