but I entirely protest FSU entering the SEC.

They had their chance. I would never support FSU to the SEC. Bobby said himself he didn't want any part of an SEC schedule.

quote:

“I felt, Paul, that it was too difficult to win through the SEC to win a national championship,” Bowden stated. “I felt like our best route would be to go through the ACC and that did prove out to be correct. But, I don’t know if we could have made it through the SEC.”

I'm not stumping for Clemson to be added to the SEC.

Fine, would be sad for Clemson to be getting this message from the REC

No. 14 is the perfect size. I wouldn't be opposed to dropping one of the Mississippi schools and adding a North Carolina school, though.

1. Duke
2. UNC
3. NC State

In that order.

just curious, why duke over carolina? neither would ever leave the acc, but would be huge additions if they did. now NCSU on the other hand might be looking to escape big bros, ala TAMU

The myth of SEC supremacy has been thoroughly busted since the inception of the playoff.

Uhhhhh, did you happen to catch the CFP Final last season? Yeah the SEC really fell off man.

I would rather add Virginia in the east and Nebraska in the west

Yeah I usually don't take sample sizes of 1 as incontrovertible proof of anything. It's cool if you do, I'm not here to judge anyone. The playoff has been around 4 years so that's the sample size I'm gonna use.

Ok. Your point? Bama is an SEC team last I checked and have been in every final but one. The year two SEC teams get in, what do you know, they both made the final.

Never happen. USCe would blackball Clemson and the Gators would blackball FSU.

Probably because football did not really exist for Clemson before that.

Using the BCS games (starting in 98) is a better sample size

Ok, I see the mistake you're making. You're mistakenly attributing Alabama's success to the rest of the SEC. No doubt Alabama is still completely dominant. But since the playoff started 4 years ago teams from 3 different conferences have won the title, and the ACC has manhandled the SEC head to head.

I think an extra private school would be good. Duke doesn't have the in state, or even out of state numbers, but they do have a national brand.

Then why are you scared to join the SEC? Clemson would make a shite ton more money in our conference.

It just means ... more

Well since my point is that the myth of SEC superiority was busted when the playoff started, if I'm going to be logical, or even rational, about it, I have to just use the 4 years of the playoff as a sample size. You understand, you get it.

No one is buying what you’re selling brother. You’re a SE team with a rich football tradition and great fan support. You don’t belong in such a shitty conference. Just trying to help you out brother.

Bwaa..what? Scared? There's only one program in the SEC that Clemson even respects, let alone fears, and that's Alabama.

Then there should be absolutely no objection to joining the SEC.

I think simply not wanting to is objection enough.
