Superdome + New Orleans > GA Dome + ATL

Yes, the SEC Championship should remain in Atlanta. It's the biggest city in the Southeast, centrally located to all of the SEC teams, has the lodging, transportation, amenities and extracurriculars that are required for hosting such a spectacle.
Just as the Superdome is the only place for the Sugar Bowl, the Georgia Dome is the only place for the SECC.

I just wish they would fix the seats in the lower level that you have to literally duck down to see a punt or a long pass.

if your idea of an afterparty is sitting in traffic, ATL is your city

With the exception of Birmingham, which does not have a stadium capable of housing the SECC, name me another city that is more centrally located than Atlanta and has everything needed.

I am sure that no one gets mugged in the ATL. NO is the perfect place given the proximity of the hotels, restuarants, Harrah's and the Quarter to the Superdome. The compactness of New Orleans is why it is a favorite big event destination.

and the superdome was a shithole pre aug 29, 2005. since it is much nicer, and is still improving as others have said

Atlanta and New Orleans are pretty much apples and apples where crime is concerned. New Orleans is marginally worse, but I'm entirely positive Atlanta is one of the most crime ridden cities in America, as well.
From the FBI website:
oh snap.
From the FBI website:
quote:
With a crime rate of 105 per one thousand residents, Atlanta has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 10.
oh snap.

LP field in Nashville would work. A little North, but somewhat centrally located. Nice City with a low crime rate and plenty of bars, restaraunts, and hotels. Extremely nice Outdoor Stadium (Way football was meant to be played)

I wasn't saying I had a better location in mind. There may not be one. However, the assertion that Atlanta is "centrally located to all SEC teams" is simply false. Look at your own map.

I actually have no problem with the game rotating between east and west, although no one in the conference office seems to want to push this
