If they would have been in the East?
What kind of argument is that? Lol
Arkansas has hit Bret's ceiling of success.

Those are some impressive records for bert at a school like Arkansas. I'd rather have gus tho

It's pretty obvious which school made the better hire 3 years ago.
Gus>Bert
But both fricking suck

Any non-biased fan is going to say Bielema. He was successful at Wisconsin and has gotten better each year at Arkansas after inheriting a program in shambles. Drop him in to Auburn and he'd be much more successful there than Malzhan. He clearly understands how to run a program while Malzahn is probably better off in an OC role.

Any non-biased fan would say Gus. Any retarded Arky fan would say Bert.
but i will give you this...Arky is trending up, while Auburn is trending down.

And Eugene won a BCSC. So did Larry Coker. Stroke mouth is a better coach than Gustav and it's not close.

I'd rather have Bert but they have both under achieved IMO, minus Gus's first year when he over achieved.

Why is that?
If Arkansas ends up never winning the SEC under his tenure, how can he be considered better?

Chiz switched to a pro style offense in 2012 without the right players and had an awful OC. That was a very bad team, but more due to coaching and scheme. Gus walked into a program with good talent and many players that he had recruited himself and fit what he wanted to do on offense.
Bert walked into a program with next to zero talent outside of a few players that weren't recruited for his style of play and scheme, and that had suffered extreme attrition rates under Petrino. He's had to rebuild the program piece by piece.
So yes, any non-biased fan with half a brain would say Bert.

Bert walked into to a program with zero talent outside of a handful like Flowers and Jonathan Williams. How can you say someone underachieved when their predecessors were a big factor into why they haven't performed well? Toledo sucked but he still improved the overall record. We've gotten better every year under him as the team has slowly become all his own.

Arkansas went 0-2 against its East opponents the year before last, Bielema has a losing record against the East (33%)

Gustav inherited much more talent than stroke mouth did at Arkie after John L.
And the question is who would I rather have as coach and it's easily stroke mouth. Gustav is looking more and more like an idiot savant. He coach offense but that is absolutely it. He can't coach defense or even discuss it at all, he can't hold onto coaches or maintain a SEC program.

Bret no question. Mainly because Gus seems like a pussy.

Do you really think the talent Gus had a Auburn to start was even close to what Bert had to work with and Bert changed the offensive philosophy. Gus had many players he helped recruit and wanted. Ever heard of perspective?
Nothing wrong with picking Gus but at least bring in some points that make sense.

Does it have to be a binary choice?
If so, I guess I would have to pick the guy who won the SEC and has brought in more talent.
Right now, neither would be in my top 5.

Someone was feeling insecure about their coaching hire.

That's because we're Auburn and you're arky. You'll always be a shite school watching us win what you never will. I have no doubt your fat frick coach could win at Auburn...Gene Chizik did. That's the difference between AU and arky.
