meh

closest things to rivals for LSU are probably Tulane, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Florida

Tulane - Yes, but only because the death penalty would be a favor. Then maybe they stop wasting private school money on a program that loses money

Ole Miss - No, they aren't very good anyway. If they got the death penalty it would just be giving them an excuse

Alabama - This one is a tough call. I find more than half of their fans to be terrible obnoxious people without any sense of real joy in the sport or perspective. I wouldn't weep for those guys but I would feel badly for the better fans who have some interest in football other than their own program (and for whom watching and talking about Alabama football is not a substitute for a meaningful life).

Florida - No. I like Florida being good. If they suck I won't weep for them but I prefer them to be a fixture near the top of the SEC East.

DP is a pretty appropriate name for it for two reasons.

Alabama and Auburn are not State's rivals, but, as a citizen of Alabama, I wish Alabama and Auburn would both get the death penalty. People in this state are willing to put up with a terrible and corrupt government, an outdated constitution, and petty, zero-sum politics because a group of mercenary students from colleges they've never attended win a few football games. The death penalty may be the only way to inflict perspective on my fellow Alabamians, at least until college football is banned entirely.

You do realize MSU resides in Mississippi? If there is a state that trumps AL in backwards and illogical ways of life, it is MS. They're last in pretty much any categorical situation you put them in, especially legislative.

ETA: You live in Bham. Yes Bham should be burned to the ground and rebuilt, but what do you expect when the city leaders are who they are (race-baiting whores with zero managerial prowess)?

No. I always thought that I would want Auburn to lose every single game, but when that almost happened last year, it wasn't any fun. Even I couldn't pick on them when they were that down. I felt sorry for the fans, and I didn't think that I would ever feel that way.
I just didn't enjoy it, so I can't imagine what it would be like if their program was shut down.
If you think that the only way that you can beat your rival is if they are on probation, then you don't have any faith in your team, and maybe you should just schedule high school teams.

LSU fan here:

I would love to see Bamas program go down. Their past three titles taken away. Loss of schollys, no bowl games, and Saban fired.

You didn't need to tell us the bolded info. We would have known that part once you typed the rest of the info.

I know you were responding to an MSU poster, but let's at least deal in reality here. AU hasn't been on probation in 20 years. That doesn't mean they've been "clean" for 20 years. NO major college can honestly make that claim.

Well that's all that matters in the parameters of the NCAA, no?
