Can someone please explain to me why War Tiger is ranked so high?
A&M game: 16 total 1st downs on 299 yards. 12 penalties. Gave up 400 yards.
Like, what has Eagle Plainsman done this year to justify a top 10 ranking or to be so haughty on this board?
Seriously asking.
Honestly, Auburn looks like they are jelling nicely right now.
They look better than anybody below them right now. they definitely have a flaw or two that needs to be addressed, but they look solid. The ONLY team ranked lower than them that MIGHT give them a game would be Wisconsin...and they could be fools gold.
I think Auburn would beat Notre Dame, and Florida. Below them? nobody else would give them a game.

Per FPI
Alabama - #30 South Carolina, #50 Duke
Arkansas - #62 Ole Miss
Auburn - #10 Oregon, #13 Texas A&M, #56 Tulane
Florida - #28 Miami, #32 Kentucky
Georgia - #7 Notre Dame
Kentucky - #12 Florida, #18 MSU
LSU - #17 Texas
Missouri - #30 South Carolina, #66 West Virginia
Mississippi St - #27 Kansas St, #32 Kentucky
Ole Miss - #38 Cal, #45 Memphis
South Carolina - #1 Alabama, #20 Missouri, #51 UNC
Tennessee - #12 Florida, #58 BYU
Texas A&M - #2 Clemson, #9 Auburn
Vanderbilt - #4 Georgia, #5 LSU
So, quite a few teams it looks like : Alabama, Missouri, Ole Miss, Arkansas.
Tulane is ranked ahead of Duke in the "others receiving votes category" in both the AP poll and coaches poll.
South Carolina received no votes in the associated press poll. FPI has them at 30?
Ole Miss played California, who is ranked #15 in the real life poll. Memphis is #30 in the others receiving votes category.
Missouri played West Virginia.
I guess that leaves Alabama in the company of Arkansas.

A team that is the equivalent of Duke, yes.

Yeah, #15 and #16 in the AP and coaches poll. Seriously, who even uses the FPI?
Tulane is ranked ahead of Duke in both the coaches and AP poll.

Oohhh Auburn has beaten an overrated PAC 12 pussy and an A&M team led by Kellen “Mr. Inconsistent” Mond. Congratulations. Now kindly STFU until November. If you make it through Amen Corner this season, you deserve all the accolades we can bestow upon you.
P.S. LSU looks forward to your meeting.

8 coaches votes compared to Duke's 3.
So yeah, to the original posts point, it looks like Tulane would've been regarded as Alabama's toughest opponent.

Well we beat Duke by 38, and you beat Tulane by 18, and Tulane is just barely ahead of Duke in the "others receiving votes" category..............
So do 5 votes in the coaches poll = 20 point difference in teams? Seems like a lot for 2 teams so close to eachother. Or did it have to do with the teams they were playing?

I guess in that case it's crazy that Missouri is unranked when they beat South Carolina by 20 and Alabama only won by 24.
And to think, it would've only been a 17 point win if not for the TD taken away before halftime that wasn't reviewed!

Alabama had a TD taken away that wasn’t reviewed.

So, what you are saying it, maybe things like comparing scores and nit picking between teams with 7 votes and 2 votes might be............silly?

Well how can Missouri not be ranked? By your logic they should be close to bama in the top 10. You were the one mentioning margin of victory, I didn't bring it up.
Tulane is ranked ahead of Duke in both polls. I know that burns, because it really shows how much of a laughing stock bama's schedule is.
It's the most embarrassing in the Southeastern Conference.
