Clemson would be good. Have always liked the better school from that state.

It appears that many on here will never get it.
And I guess that's understandable--there's no frame of reference for em.
That program is toxic.
Absolute control or nuthin'.
Still, the horn sycophancy by many in the SEC is so odd.

Careful what you wish for. UT is a sleeping giant.

Texas is the biggest bunch of bitches around. With all of their money. Being in the State of Texas. With every advantage they're given in the Big Bevo. With what is left of that conference, there is no reason they shouldn't win it every single year. Instead, they shite the bed year in and year out.

The SEC doesn't want Texas. And anyone on this board who wants them is an idiot. They are a conference-killer.
Plus, they're more of a name-brand than anything else. They want everyone to believe they're one of the top CFB programs, but they don't really have the resume'.

SEC presidents won't invite Texas, regardless of how much money and TV exposure they'd bring.

They're a lazy giant. Texas was dominant in the sixties and seventies, but despite the success they had after the millennium, they really haven't been dominant since then. They're more worried about money then football.

They've been asleep for 95% of their history if that's the case. Texas is one of the most overrated programs in the history of the sport.

Yea, they think they are, but we just ran that experiment and they failed miserably. The only way they were able to get big providers to carry the LHN was ESPN started throwing it in as a free perk with the SEC Network a full 2 years after the LHN "launched." Basically, a lot of people in Texas (and a few scattered people around the country) like the Longhorn logo and are happy to buy a t-shirt and even watch a game when the horns are top 10, but that's it. Nobody is coughing up extra $$ to follow Texas sports.
This is a hypothetical because they can't get clear of the LHN deal for another 12 years, but if they were to go independent and had to build their TV deals from scratch, it would be a disaster for their football program. 6-8 of their games would end of a network that 50-100k homes nationwide are capable of viewing. Only their games against marquee opponents would be viewable by broad audiences (and those would be on the other team's network). The damage would be even more severe for their other sports.

Oklahoma is superior to Texas in every way and they don't bring all the of the bullshite baggage. I wouldn't mind if they joined. Too bad they're attached to the Horns for whatever reason.

The SEC presidents want to build the conference, not tear it down. Texas will never be invited.
