This board proves otherwise.

A Saban quote about Bama success, "it's not the salesman but rather the car"

And there's little difference between the two cars

Not arguing that, but lot's of people talk about how easy it is to win at Bama. We had a string of real bad HCs and everyone of them had at least one ten win season.

I want to say no because the run at Alabama is insane and I think Bama gets Bama treatment

But at the same time the 2005, 2006 and 2007 teams were loaded with talent. You could easily picture him winning 1-2 NCs in that time.

With no powerhouse forming at Alabama I think he could have won 2-4 More NCs at LSU.

I wasn't and won't take a side in a thread like this where there is no right or wrong answer - except for those who are certain they are right.

If there is a difference, it's this: that "fire Les, keep Les" shitshow at the end of 2015 probably doesn't happen in Tuscaloosa. We have always had too many cooks in the kitchen that have screwed up potential coaching moves/hires in our history.

I know that most LSU fans will say that it's as easy to recruit to LSU as to Alabama, but I don't think that is so. Yes, LSU has the advantage of no other major programs in the state of Louisiana, but Alabama football is a bigger draw in the entire Southeast and nation wide. Even Mike Shula recruited well to Alabama.

I don't think so, but he would have been successful. Bama has many advantages.

So did Alabama post-Bryant and pre-Saban, and everybody knows what an up and down circus that 25 year period was.

Bama, however, is Bama. Along with USC, Michigan/Ohio State, and back in the day Notre Dame/Nebraska they have that national recognition that lets you go out and cheery pick recruits from all over the country.

I disagree with you on Notre Dame, Michigan, and Nebraska. None of those schools have accomplished much recently. Notre Dame especially is living off of success 50 years ago and the ignorance of Catholics.

Bama is Bama. They will always be good because they won't tolerate failure for long. Sure, they may make a bad hire here and there and thus have some not so great seasons, but that hire won't be there long and they have been pretty good at hiring successful coaches so unless that changes for some reason, nothing short of a major slip up ending in big time NCAA sanctions is going to slow them down from at least being a contender year after year.

Now that I complimented you bastards...
Eat shite you sister fricking retards.

I agree with you. I don't know how chaotic it was with the real decision makers, but from the outside it looked like a monkey trying to have sex with a Football.

He could have been successful, but not as successful. LSU has none of the resources that Bama does (legal or $$$). He would have done well recruiting LA and TX, but being in Bama allows him to tap into GA and FL too.
