Zero sum is not be obsessed with the concept of the idea of a conferences supremacy. It’s as pathetic as wearing SEC merch or chanting “SEC.”
Zero sum is not caring if you’re in the big 12, sec, or NFC East and being disappointed with failure anyways. Nobody in Norman is saying “wow, we suck this year but at least we’re apart of the SEC!” Nobody does that.
If OU has a top 70 offense even, they have an ugly 9/10 win season. If they get a top 50 offense paired with this defense, they probably play in the SEC title game or come close to it.
You don’t need to worried about us being Nebraska. We will be fine.

Neb not even having enough white cornfield boys to play 11-11 HS football, advancements in PED testing technology, firing a coach because he went 9-3, everyone being on national TV nowadays, the abandonment of their traditional recruitment pipelines of TX, OK and Florida the second they thought relocating to a Big 10 division to play schools in states with zero HS talent was a great idea, ect
Nah, I understand the demise of Neb football perfectly fine.

Please keep talking. I’d love to hear more of your expert analysis on our defensive line. You just keep pissingdown your leg and telling everyone you spilled something. Truly embarrassing for you and wildly entertaining for everyone else.

My golden retriever is closer to learning how to read than you are to understanding what "the SEC is as zero sum of a league as it gets in sports" means.
12/16 SEC fanbases are going to think the world is ending and that their coach deserves the boot unless he makes the playoff the following year. Especially the big 6 program fanbases and OU/TX. You just don't get it. Not enough wins to go in this conference.
Being one of the 3 or 4 best teams in the SEC on a perennial basis isn't realistic for anyone in this league anymore (except for maybe Smart's UGA program currently) .

Speak for yourself. You’re saying that because you’re used to mediocrity. Whats acceptable and “part of the grind” of playing in the sec for you just sounds like a lot of excuses and complacency to me.
You do you man. If you’re happy with that outlook, more power to you.

It's not about being happy or unhappy. Just is what it is. Don't be a silly goober. You are just wishfully spewing dweeby-ness.
Feel bad actually that you are not capable of understanding how different things are going to be for you guys year in year out moving forward. Poor guy has no idea what it's like to play in a league where you have to actually fight for your meals each and every Saturday.

Poor guy has no clue what he’s talking about.
Like I said, congrats on managing expectations for yourself. I’d feel the same if my team were irrelevant for 25 years too.

What about your defensive line?
What's that got to do with you being piss ignorant about Nebraska?

Traditions: Vol Walk, Vol Nay, Rocktop, Checkerboard Endzone, Smokey, It’s Football Time in Tennessee, The General's Maximums, Running through the T, Power T, just name a few.
Wins: Bigish 12 was a joke. SEC wins are all that matter.
Academics: Yes it’s an institution of higher learning first.
Facilities: SEC is just different. Oil money might allow you to copy but we innovate.
NIL: Vols are the industry standard.
Okie is on the verge of dying as a football program and everybody saw it coming.

Unfortunately people get fired when they don’t do their jobs well.
Is the OC in charge of offseason conditioning? Dude didn’t get a year. And they scapegoated Huepel at Okie too.
One or 2 injured guys? Sure not an excuse. Vols lost their leader at LB and the best secondary guy this year. That’s a bit different than losing your WR corp and Oline. Dude was a sacrificial firing.

If so, Kirby Smart would snatch up Venables in a heartbeat (or at least try to). Somebody's going to get Schumann away from us so we need to be ready.
You've already got one of the best DC in college football on your staff. Georgia would be crazy not to just promote Muschamp to sole DC unless he just doesn't want it.

I agree. I think Oklahoma’s offer could break records.

Tennessee will never be an equivalent job to OU. To do that, you need to stack about 20 more years of conference titles, national titles/appearances and about four heismans. By then Jh will be retired sitting in his rocking chair at his lake house. If they call him next winter 2025, he’s taking it. Replyreplies2...

Looks like a possible new reality for you lot now that you don’t get to push second rate teams around

You're overvaluing your defense which is good but not quite as good as you think. Most of the conference has a good defense.
There are 8 SEC teams ahead of OU in total defense:
1 Texas 7 444 1661 3.74 6 6 237.3
4 Tennessee 7 450 1813 4.03 8 9 259.0
9 Missouri 7 393 1911 4.86 12 13 273.0
12 Kentucky 7 356 1985 5.58 14 16 283.6
13 Ole Miss 7 499 2026 4.06 6 6 289.4
16 South Carolina 7 470 2088 4.44 16 16 298.3
19 Georgia 7 435 2134 4.91 12 12 304.9
1
31 Texas A&M 7 446 2275 5.10 14 14 325.0
32 Oklahoma 7 468 2281 4.87 14 17 325.9

He’s followed Danny white from UCF here. They clearly have a great relationship, and I don’t think that’s something he walks away from.

The delusional post of the day. You do understand that half the SEC has a better defense than Okie. This isn’t the big 12
