No he is very happy here

Why would he want to go to the new Nebraska?

He can recruit very well here

Oklahoma depends on Texas and California

This is the NIL era now

Tennessee has as much money as anyone

Plus he has a great relationship with Danny White and gets whatever he ask for

I just went and looked at Tennessee's current recruiting class.

2025 Class - 5 of 23 commits are from Tennessee
2024 Class - 6 of 21 commits are from Tennessee
2023 Class - 6 of 25 commits are from Tennessee
2022 Class - 2 of 23 commits are from Tennessee

So clearly Tennessee has to rely on other states to provide them talent.. that appears to be primarily Georgia. That seems pretty comparable to Oklahoma, who relies on Texas talent. Does it not?

You realize how close Knoxville is to other states.
You will find as many Vol fans in the Carolinas and Virginia as you will see in Tennessee.
Yes we have our share of Bama fans here too. Many are transplant job seekers lol
But fun to mess with at work.

Back when\ Fulmer was producing winners he recruited the Hell out of New Jersey and California.

He also pulled a lot from Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.

I live near Athens, so I totally get it. But you also have to realize that DFW is only 3 hours from Norman. There is a boatload of talent in that area. When OU is good, they are landing a lot of those guys.

Now that will be harder with Texas, A&M, Arkansas, LSU and national teams also recruiting that area, but it's foolish to think OU is the next Nebraska. Nebraska isn't close to anything but corn fields. East Texas isn't all that far from Norman either.

He has it much easier here competing against Clemson Virginia basically the ACC getting talent to Tennessee
Think about when Tennessee was bad all those years Clemson was good.
Now we are better than them which has us trending up
Always great to steal talent from the ACC

It is if one of your program goals is to win a national championship. Oklahoma has multiple CFP appearances.

Good ol' Rocky Flop cannot say the same thing.

If I were you I’d be the biggest BV fan because if they ever let him go you bet JH is high tailing it to Norman and not looking back lol

Hope for you the job never opens up because he will leave if the job is offered. Your job is a tier below plus it’s his alma mater. Slam dunk opp tbh.

Unfortunately people get fired when they don’t do their jobs well.

Injuries aren’t an excuse. He had a pool of former 4 star talent to work with and all we got was by far the most pathetic P4, maybe even G5, offense any one of us has ever witnessed.

Not scapegoating just reality.

Tennessee will never be an equivalent job to OU. To do that, you need to stack about 20 more years of conference titles, national titles/appearances and about four heismans.

By then Jh will be retired sitting in his rocking chair at his lake house. If they call him next winter 2025, he’s taking it.

Tradition? Lol yeah no. Not even remotely close. Not only do we have our own traditions, we make other schools (see Texas and DKR, who was a QB and all American at OU).

Winning? Not sure what metrics you’re looking at. I won’t even list the several OU beats out Tennessee at handily.

Academics? What is this, the Ivy League? You’re Tennessee, not Princeton. Anyways, tell me the last time a coach boasted that their schools academic prestige landed a top 10 recruiting class.

Facilities/money? One word. Oil.

Really? Because your offense was held to 13 yards the entire first quarter.

Think he’s still got it. Just saying.
