I agree. So is this years LSU team.

Bama 09 is better than this years Bama team IMO.

I think this years Bama team would win by 7-10 points. The 09 wouldn't be able to score.

This is the worst moral victory thread I have ever seen.
"We did not play these teams, but we should have easily beaten them, therefore LSU's schedule is not impressive."
it is a crap argument (esp because it attempts to dismiss LSU's best win - the road win at Alabama)... but it actually isn't all that uncommon in college football
in 2004 people argued Auburn should have been passed over for OU and USC because of their ooc schedule. The only functional difference between the OU and Auburn schedule was OU playing a 5-6 Oregon team at home... which is to say... only a difference in the computers IMO

how would this years team score 10 points on 09 bama D though?

How bad would LSU have beat Bama's non LSU opponents?
Posted on 12/21/11 at 1:44 pm to JGTiger
Maybe beaten PSU by a little more due to offensive experience.
Maybe held GSU to less yards and points due to lateral quickness of LB's.
But pretty much the same.

In some cases, Bama beat common opponents much more convincingly than LSU. In no case did LSU beat a common opponent more convincingly than Bama.

I'm sure you've worked this one out in your mind so it makes a lot of sense
In SEC on the season LSU has given up the same number of points and scored 9 more points than Alabama. That screams similar to me... with a small edge to LSU given their head to head win and small edge in points scored (and probably a nod as well for their better competition played out of conference)

"Would have beaten..." sounds good in theory

Dude -- are you laughing at LSU's schedule....
come on man... Bama had fricking Kent State and Georgia Southern.... with offense-less Penn State as your "toughest road test".
Get real.

Bama may not have been a double digit favorite over is Oregon...and we all know Bama would have whipped them too.
Are you arguing over who Bama would be double digit favorites over or who they'd be capable of beating in an actual football game? Exactly what is the point of posting a message about who Bama would or wouldn't be favored against on LSU's schedule? Bama is the second ranked team in the country, the only team that would be favored against them is LSU. Just because you are favored doesn't mean you win..just ask Oklahoma State...or Alabama(Nov 5th).
Getting back to the point you failed to make though: I think Oregon matches up better against Bama than they do LSU. Bama is more of a power and size defense, where LSU favors speed and quickness. I think Oregon would certainly be capable of giving Bama a run for their money, especially considering how much trouble Cam Newton gave Bama last year, and how they've had their struggles with the option this year. I think teams with running QBs match up better against a Saban defense. That is definitely one team on a neutral site that I think would have a great shot at knocking off Bama.. especially considering Bama's offense is fairly pedestrian.
Remember, it was the big plays from LSU which really dictated the outcome in that game.

Actually...comparing that schedule & SECCG to Bama's 2009 campaign is laughable.

I try not to over think things. You play our schedule, plus us. You defeat all of our opponents like you say. You lose to us 9-6. You are still a 1 loss team, ranked #2 in the country. How does what you say change anything. However great that would make you, our results are still more impressive. Try another argument.

May not have been?
Get over yourself. You are delusional if you think Alabama would have been a double-digit favorite over Oregon to start the season.
