So we’re getting this question out of the way early I see. Good to know.

This is almost like asking if UK would be more at home in the ACC
-Good for the basketball program (playing Duke, unc, etc) allowing for more big games
-Good for football team because easier schedule
The answer is NO
Arky for better or worse is SEC now. Leaving is not the answer, improving is

I’m talking about profit sharing between teams. The fans may not care but the schools certainly do.

I see this is something the Pigs are tired of, but I mean it's most clear way Arkansas is going to become consistently successful in football. The over/under for Arkansas SEC championships in the next 50 years would be like 2.

The Big XII plays good basketball too.

You've only had the one, recently, unless you count the Johnell fiasco. You might not like how their tenures turned out, but both Petrino and Bielema had genuine successful head coach credentials before coming to Arkansas. For that matter, so did Hootie, in his own Hootieish way.

Because it’s never going to happen. No school is going to voluntarily give up truck loads of money to go to a lesser product and make less money.

They couldn’t beat Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas or West Virginia regularly. I doubt they’d be a top 3 Big12 program.

Crowe and Nutt and now Morris

Literally unqualified. I'm not using unqualified in an emotional sense.

Nutt? Are you kidding? He had a 5-6 record at Boise State.

Who hired Nutt? No one knows the real answer. The AD didn't

Who hired Morris? No one knows the real answer. The AD didn't

They were miserable in the old swc because they were the only non Texas team but they had tremendous success because they could recruit Texas and were a brand in the old swc.
What never gets talked about is they turned in that "brand" joining the sec. The sec didn't care. The kids they recruit want to play Texas, tcu, Baylor, etc. To this day which makes it harder for them.

They also lost their traditional rivalries which has killed lots of programs. Anybody watched Nebraska lately. How bout Texas? Arkie doesn't have the Texas game anymore. That itself has been disastrous.

I believe arkie would be much happier back in the southwest area. They left for the money to start with and that has ruined many a good thing for a lot of people.

Do you have a situation similar to what Tennessee had this last hunt? Donors heavily influencing the search?

Let’s also not forget this whole point of the sports thing is to be a front door to the university, and being more relevant as a brand in Texas would improve their out of state student mix significantly.

People keep saying the money would be less, but if they can convince Texas to bundle teir 3 content the money is out there. It would save the conference and that would mean a lot for Texas politically.

Ha! "heavily influenced the search"...

No sir. This is Arkansas. We set the standard for good ole boy network "influence."

I was being kind in my previous post. Real estate guru and former player Jim Lindsey hired Nutt, and he also engineered the Nutt/Malzahn fiasco

Jerry Jones, He of the Dallas Cowboys, hired Morris.

What good would that do them?

Are they a better fit in the Big 12? Yes. They'd be a upper tier program there and have a Big 12 coach.

Would they ever leave? Hell no.

I did say recent. Crow was hired and fired before a single member of your current team was even born unless you have a 7th or 8th year senior lurking about. You even skipped Ford to reach him. The prime examples of 'recent' are Bielema and Petrino, and both were completely qualified from the outset. If your argument is that Arkansas occasionally hires bad coaches, well, I agree. As does every university. Y'all aren't special in that regard.

They never were a good fit culturally for the sec, same as A&M. Missouri without the sjw St. Louis influence is more “southern” than a lot of the sec.

OU sells their tier 3 rights to a regional run Fox network for $7 million a year which combined with the Big 12 payout is close to SEC money.

If Arky could swing something like that they might not even see a major revenue hit from the move.

Guess now that Broyles is dead, Arkansas fans have stopped blaming him for everything that went wrong during his AD tenure?

Arkansas would be very competitive in the big12. Half that conference should be in the sun belt.

Crowe - unqualified - set us back two years? If we're lucky?

Ford - qualified, and he took the job because he was bored - edit: ran our program into the ground

Nutt - unqualified - ten fricking years up until 2007 - set us back at least two years that Petrino had to deal with

Petrino - qualified, of course

John L Smith - interim

Bielema - qualified alcoholic - edit: ran program into the ground

Morris - unqualified
