Clemson has played Auburn a good bit lately and beat us in 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2017
They’ve got a series scheduled with UGA.

What do previous years' results and future opponents have to do with the 2019 college football season? What does last year's win over Alabama have to do with the 2019 season? Absolutely nothing.

Someone of you people are so stupid, I honestly don't see how you make it through everyday life.

Clemson deserves the benefit of the doubt. They won 2 out of the last 3 titles.

If 13-0 Bama/LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Clemson, and 12-1 Bama/LSU, are all there at the top, I think Oklahoma is the odd one out. Especially if LSU-Bama is close and the East champ the champion beats has 1 loss.

44-16 is too fresh even though it’s last year. Plus Oklahoma is 0fer in the CFP. I think it may play a factor, even though they will swear it doesn’t.

I’ve said it before and say it again if you swapped Clemson for Minnesota the gophers would actually have a legitimate shot to win that conference

Minnesota. Let that sink in

SEC teams that win the ACC without Clemson:

Bama
LSU
Auburn
A&M
Georgia
Florida

Arguably:
South Carolina

South Carolina already lost to North Carolina so you can’t include them

Yes. All the good teams in the other conferences could win the acc. My point is that average teams form other conferences could legitimately win that league. It’s that fricking bad.

Moot point.

They won't be 13-0.

Autocorrect and I didn't catch it. Moot. Yes, I know.

ETA: Although in Clemson's case, mute could apply as well. Inbreeding often produces genetic defects.

Yes. If Bama has earned the benefit of the doubt going through a trash schedule, so has Clemson.

The mission of the CFP Committee is to put the four BEST teams in the playoff, it says absolutely nothing about "most deserving".

The "most deserving" bullshite was first championed by the fricking sports media in 2015, and they can't let it go.

By the end of the Conference Championship games, it will be pretty clear who the Top 5 teams are. Clemson is not as good as they were last year, but they still have a stout defense and their offense didn't really get rolling until around Game 6 last year. This year is no different. They are in if they go undefeated. Period.

I got an idea. Let's do SEC teams that have never lost to Ohio State.

Can you imagine the billboards when LSU doesn’t get in at 10-2?

What city would they put them up in?? NCAA has zero input in selection process, and the CFP Committee disbands after they set the Playoffs.

I’m sorry deserving does matter. Or else playing games doesn’t matter. Results wouldn’t matter

You have to mix ability of the teams with their results

For example Ohio state were good enough to be in the playoffs but losing to Purdue mattered. So yes there is a “deserving” part to selecting teams
