I might be misremembering but, while Russell was recruited to LSU by Saban, his first start wasn't until 2005 when Les Miles was head coach.

Correct. He was only there for his freshman season, so OP being a bundle of sticks and trying to blame Saban for Jamarcus is about as dumb as you can get.
He's all L2Us product. He might have been worth a shite had Saban stayed, but we all know he couldn't wait to leave.

Which brings up another interesting thought. If L2U fans want to lay the blame on Saban for the biggest bust in history, then Urban should get the credit for Burrow if you follow the same "logic."
