A good friend on this board wisely pointed out that JaMarcus Russell was the biggest QB bust of all time from the SEC.
Here are the men who made him what he was:

His shitty work ethic made him who he was.

Nick Saban lives in LSU fans brains (if you can call that mass of dead cells in their head a brain) 24/7

The point about Russell was made by a Bama fan.

Raiders didn't help either. Dude needed some consistency and structure in the worst way

I love that my thread has caused pure chaos

Russell was a good QB when he had a offensive line that gave him unlimited protection and he could stand like a tree and finally throw a pass after 5-10 seconds passed.
At LSU it masked how immobile he was and he had no ability to improvise if a play did not work. As a result he was a bust in the NFL.
Contrast that to someone like a McNair or Favre who learned how to make plays as a QB in college under duress and you can easily see the difference.

I love that he was the #1 pick overall
and made a boatload of money
That’s all on Oakland that drafted him #1 and paid him
When he could barely speak English
Good for him….
Arguably the top three QB in LSU history after….
Joe Burrow
Bert Jones
JaMarcuss Russell….outstanding CFB QB

Don't forget Hall of Famer Y.A. Tittle. Tommy Hodson was better also.

I guess when your team goes from the mountain top to a sewage dump in 2 years, you find your happiness where you can. Keep your chin up.

Jamarcus Russell made himself what he was by eating his way through every drive-thru fast food joint he came across and a bad work ethic. Not sure Saban or Fisher forced him to stop there. It would appear as if they took a lazy QB and made them an excellent college QB. he failed AFTER he left college, not while he was in college.

Rohan Gravy apparently forgot about Rohan Davey. That seems odd.
