I guess the East Texan in me is familiar with the Louisiana culture flowing across the Sabine. Or, maybe it's heritege (greatgreatgreat grandpa was born in New Orleans and was a Bailey Vinson Scout in the Civ War [part of the Teche Guerrillas]).

But I like Baton Rouge. I like New Orleans.

(Of course, frick LSU. I mean, that goes without saying)

You accurately described the entire state outside of williamson county. Congrats. It's a top 5 least threatening place in the state. Hands down

Actually, I've only been to South Carolina once and it was great. Went to watch a Marine graduate, stayed in Port Royal/Beaufort area for a few days. The food wasn't as good as I'm used to, but it was beautiful there in October. I could see how that would be a great vacation destination once I'm old.

Baton Rouge, LA is the worst shite hole in the entire SEC. It really says something about your city when I prefer Jackson, MS over Baton Rouge.

You've just proven you've not left Bourbon, btw.

There's actually a fairly distinct smell throughout most of the city, especially in the warmer months.

Except there's not. Maybe you were smelling your upper lip.

Maybe you go there too often and you are smell blind to it. Like I can go back to my hometown and not notice the paper mill smell, but someone who's there for the first time will notice it.

Even if all of Nola had a distinct smell, the whole city doesn't smell like shite as Bourbon does as the other poster alleged.

That's not what he said. I can see how people may think that distinct smell smells like shite.

That's exactly what he said. His words: "smells like shite."

Cool but none of those are my cities/ I only lived in Cola for the 4 years I went to school.

He didn't say "smells like shite like Bourbon does". Bourbon St doesn't have a monopoly on shitty smells.

I also have to add the humidity.

In the summer it is downright disgusting.

It's all so personal. ANY city is going to be worse, to me. I can't stand the thought of living next to other people, or have millions of people drive by my abode every week. I'd go stir crazy.

But I've had very good times in a lot of the locations listed in this thread, except the SC spots. I need to get to the Carolinas, I guess

Orlando. Hate everything about that city from theme parks to horrible traffic to the tourist trap stuff. I’m sure there is crime, but that isn’t why I hate that city.

lol you didn't hurt my feelings. Sorry you don't like someone pointing out an ignorant statement you made. Try and learn from it and do better.

You're reaching here to defend an ignorant statement. And yes, he said the city smells like shite without any qualifiers. I've lived in Nola for over a decade, and when someone says something to that effect, it always comes out that they are the ones full of shite.

He's had ample opportunity to clarify his statement, and hasn't, so it seems he meant what he said and you're trying to paint it as something else than what it was.
