Every Bama game....there was one game where the refs called a hold on us.

You might be a little biased.

I do think SC should have been in over SMU though.

Also UGA Texas just cause of that one play and how they handled it.
The reversal of the call was correct, but you are right. It was handled atrociously. It was non-reviewable, and it at least appeared as if the referee that made the call changed his mind after looking up at the replay board and Sark yelling at him.
Not a criticism of Sark. He should have been yelling. But it was just handled badly.

No, it didn’t. Your player hitting someone late made you miss the playoffs. The refs were equally bad for that game.

Can’t do a blindside block like that.

Watch the game. It was a penalty. Learn the rules of football.

You can’t de-cleat a defenseless player who is not capable of making the play. Read the rules.

Yeah S.Car got absolutely hosed against LSU and it ended up costing the SEC another playoff spot. The rest of the game probably was not fantastic either, but that single play was really horrendous officiating. Not sure how you make that kind of call as an official in a major CFB game. It’s mind-boggling really. But SEC refs are extremely bad — it’s a problem with the conference at this point. Sankey needs to clean house and find different crews imo. There are not just one but multiple crews that consistently make perplexing judgments in games.

Why do you think violent blind side blocks are allowed ?
Posted on 12/21/24 at 9:53 am to djsdawg
Give me a break man, he pushed him down and the QB sold it. Nussmeier acted like he got hit by a truck. He didn’t ‘de-cleat’ him and it wasn’t particularly violent. It was a cheesy call in the context of what happened. Not to mention the QB had a LEGITIMATE play on the ball as a potential tackler.
Go back and see what happened to Aaron Murray in the SECCG in 2012 against Bama when he got flattened by Damion Square. And that was not even called a penalty. Football is a physical game — I just don’t think that type of block should be penalized in that context. If he hauled off and speared him from a jogging/running start, that’s a little different. But he didn’t really do that.

Forgot about the td called back because the ref didn't know the rules.

He got blind side hit by an absolute monster. Why do you think that is allowed?

This play is exactly why it is not allowed anymore.
