Okay if you say so. I'm not a Bama fan so I didn't follow him really closely but I lived in Huntsville when he played and I remember watching plenty of really shitty Bama games and hearing all kinds of bitching on sports talk radio.

Seriously, does it matter who the starter is in that case? The back-up QB is ALWAYS the most popular man on campus...at pretty much every program.
Remember the clamor on this board for Perriloux?

Yeah, good point. That Iron Bowl that Bama lost 9-0 just sticks out in my head. The offense stunk the entire game and they got a 4th quarter turnover inside the AU 20 and he quickly threw an INT or they turned the ball over on downs, I can't remember exactly which.

Speaking of Zow, against Clemson JPW moved into second place on the all-time Bama passing chart, surpassing Zow's mark.

My vote is for the Henig kid from MSU. He was just way outclassed for the SEC.

Spencer Pennington and Brandon Avalos were only there because there were no other options.

As far as Jay Barker goes, his winning percentage will stand for a long time at Alabama. He was a great quarterback because he made great decisions. Add in that he now sleeps with Sara Evans, and I would have to give the man lots of credit. He just makes good decisions.

Dead serious. We won the SEC with him at the helm, in 1999. Beat Florida in OT in the Swamp to break their home winning streak, and spanked dat arse in the Dome for the title. Plus we beat Auburn on the Plains for the first time with him.

Zow is near the top of the charts for every passing mark at Alabama, and wasn't even a full-time starter, splitting time with Tyler Watts. I loved me some Zo'.

You can't say Brandon Cox. Dude never lost to Alabama and won over 30 games in three years. I would say Gabe Gross sucked pretty bad at Auburn. Also, Jeff Klein started a game once.

As far as the whole SEC, Blake Mitchell was a goob. Marcus Randall sucked real bad.

If FSU was in the SEC I would say Chris Rix and Drew Weatherford.

Any body who has lined up for Mississippi State recently, just dreadful.

This is the correct answer and it isn't debatable. Michael Henig was way out his league. Craig Stelz should personally thank him for his all-american status. One thing I just cannot figure out is how State cannot even get a decent QB. He doesn't have to be all SEC, just a capable SEC calibre QB.

The way State plays, all y'all really need is a game manager type. Just a decent arm and a smart kid and you guys would be fine. It really is amazing how much bad luck you guys have had with QBs recently. Anybody in this year's class that could buck the trend?

Honestly, Wesley Carroll did a good job last year considering he was a true freshman. But I doubt we'll ever get a playmaker at QB. Madkin was probably is good as it gets for us.

How about Marc Guillon? He started against South Carolina in '04 I believe.
