1,453 days of being the reigning national champion.
Last time our last game of season was a loss was in 2019. Think about that. That was before covid. And we end 2025 season with a loss.
Only 3 seniors. 9 freshmen. They will be in the hunt again next year. Lots of teams lose some serious talent and OU only gets better.
Quite the ride and they had some awesome comebacks in playoffs.
Patty's best coaching job in my opinion.

Congrats on the impressive 4 year run
Now I hope Tech sweeps the team from Austin.

The announcer was only considering the 4 straight titles. That's not my idea of the current dynasty, which I consider 2013 to present. It's not over...yet.
I consider UCLA the ultimate softball blue bloods, and they've had their dynasties over the years. Just not at the moment.

I do think it’s just a tougher sport now to win repeatedly. I remember softball at Texas when I was in school in the 90s…

UCLA is so yesterday. OU is thee softball machine, despite taking a hiccup this year.

They’re still a blue blood. 3 championships since 2000. But the sport was in a fledgling NCAA stage in the 80s when they rang up tons of titles.

I agree, I just don’t see UCLA coming back to dominance as long as OU is around.

They never won four national championships

Yes. It was a different game when UCLA got most of them....kinda like all the Ivy football titles. Not quite that ancient, but I do kinda equate the shorts and t-shirt days with the old leather helmet days.

Announcer jizzing himself over the "end" of the OU dynasty.
He didn’t say the dynasty was over he said the 4 year run lol … don’t get it twisted 9 straight years in the semis we will be back with the youngest team in college softball. We were one decent catcher away. Horns have the team they are a senior led team with a good pitcher. No excuses it’s now or never .

I remember at Texas finding out about the softball team when I asked a player out. News to me!
She was athletic. But very clearly not the athlete today’s players are.

I didn't really think they were capable of making a serious run for another title until near the end of the regular season.
It was a damn fine coaching job, and Patty was having more fun than she has in at least a couple of years. She'll have plenty of coaching to do next year as well with the incoming class.

All those wins under the same coach?
Don't see a 4peat in there either.

Pitching wasn't there for us this year and it's clear that we REALLY miss K9. No knock on Emerling, but she's just not that good.

He said dynasty. He'd been saying and pumping it all night. Doesn't really matter, eh.

First you lost the title of football school. Now you lost the title of softball school thanks to Texas Tech
