his settlement more than likely. Urb was just posturing .

They were going to can him with no pay, but because of the statement release they will negotiate it.

You really think they’ll fire him, NYCAuburn?

I don’t. I think they’re desperately looking for a way to justify keeping him. That way is to pin it on Gene Smith for not following through on Urban’s communication in 2015 (if that actually happened). Smith is fired and given $8-10m quietly to never discuss it and the Urban rehab reputation rehab tour begins with ESPN later same day

Meyer will never be in the SEC ever again. He's too much of a coward.
Notre Dame is too good to fire Kelly.

Meyer may end up in the Mountain West again. Probably good for his ego.

If he proves his statement to be true, I doubt there'll be much of a negotiation. In fact, there's probably room for a defamation lawsuit if they can him...we'd be talking waaaay more than his cumulative salary....if he can prove it, I'd love to be his lawyer.

I'd be more inclined to go with this scenario.

Don't want Urban anywhere near LSU. Winning is important, but he's a POS.

Plus, Saban made his arse quit being in the same conference, why in the hell would Urban come back and in the same division no less?

Unless lying to the public is prohibited in his contract and they can prove that he didn't follow protocol and inform the proper people, you can be your arse the option is still on the table...don't be naive.

There's going to have to be serious verifiable proof Urban did in fact report it if that's what they're going to lean on by keeping him.

I think Urban is gone, though. The Big 10 and OSU have too much egg on their face over the last 6 years or so. One could argue if Urban knew and reported it, and nothing was done, he didn't do enough.

I'm certain most contracts of this size all have some sort of ethics clause baked in. Urban publicly lying may be enough to terminate him with cause. It guess it depends on how much of a PR hit the University is willing to take, let alone the Big 10. You know Jim Delany has to be sick of all these scandals rocking his conference.

I'm definitely no lawyer, but I find it hard to believe you pay someone $7.5M a year without some sort of clause for ethical behavior.

Shame on OSU if not.

Good, let them sort it out. I'm sure Meyer's attorney and OSU's attorney have had more than a few chit chats over the last 3 weeks.

I know I wouldn't want to be OSU's legal counsel, AD, or President right now.

OSU wants urbs... they'll find every reason to keep him and let this blow over, hence the 14 day investigation

You do realize Urban is being accused of employing/not reporting a wife beater, and not of being one himself, right?

And that Orgeron has some pretty bad skeletons in his closet- not for his employees, but he himself? Drunken fights, restraining order, etc?
