If Alabama doesn't frickin' smoke Auburn tomorrow. They could beat Georgia and still not get in.

Alabama needs all the help they can get and no amount is too small.

They can't win ugly or close tomorrow. They have to utterly dominate Auburn to the point of running up the score on them. This has to, at a minimum be a 20 point win or no matter what happens the week after against Georgia, it's over.

In fact, Alabama could win in Atlanta and still not spoil it for Georgia. The way this is shaking out, Georgia could lose the conference championship and still only drop to four, while Alabama sits at five or six.

This committee does not respect the Alabama Crimson Tide and barely respects the team that beat them.

Not sure it matters how much they beat Auburn by. Considering they just lost to NMSU

At this point I wouldn't worry about it. Nothing anyone of us can do but watch the games.

It might not. In fact probably won't but what we do know is a shitty, clutzy Alabama win fricks things up even worse.

I don’t want to start a thread but just wondering. Does okie st go to the big 12 championship if everyone wins out tomorrow?

Bottom line is we didn’t take care of business Week 2 in our house. We’re probably gonna need help even if we win out. It is what is.

I haven't followed it. So who's playing Texas? OU or OSU?

I still take comfort in knowing Bama and Georgia would butt frick Washington, Michigan, Oregon and Ohio State.

Probably why the committee would love to keep the SEC out.

That’s what I’m wondering. Oklahoma, Oklahoma st and Kansas st could finish with two losses and ok st beat Oklahoma but I don’t think either team played Kansas st

Nvm. Oklahoma st best Kansas st. So if they win tomorrow they go

What's weird to me is that Texas, without one single doubt has the best win in the country and they still can't get any respect.

Yes, Oregon looks sexier but they haven't produced the way Texas has.

I've generally believed the committee has done a good job over the years but this year, they've really fricked things up.

Texas not getting love over Oregon is kinda wild. I mean beating Georgia or Alabama in any given year is legendary. Never happens for a team outside of the SEC. I know Texas is coming in but still. If ducks beat UW next week they are 100% getting in.

Meh. If Bama wins out, no matter how they look, they need help.

That help needs to be either an FSU or UTx loss. With either, a 4th spot opens, and the CFPs are likely the BIG champ, PAC Champ, ACC or Big 12 champ, and Bama.

In the event of a loss to Bama, UGA likely needs both FSU and UTX not to win their Conf Championships and potentially UL to lose to the UK (assuming UL was the ACC champ). Although, I think they would be strongly considered over a 1-loss ACC champ. It would be a break in precedent, but it could happen this year.

Either way, it's going to be a fun couple of weeks. It's pretty wild that there are 8-9 teams with very plausible paths to the CFPs this late in the year.

It's been weird how little turmoil and drama there has been this year. Maybe today and CCG weekend will change that.

Have to appreciate the irony if NMSU’s utter dominance of Auburn on their home field took the shine off an IB dub and kept Bama out of the CFP.

Would be a great year for a 12 team playoff
You could argue top 10 would all have a shot
Even mizzou is one of the hottest teams right now that I wouldn’t want to play

This is a very real possibility.

I doubt this. If Alabama beats Georgia I think we are out.

The issue with Texas is that they've had a few really tight game. They won against Houston on a fourth down spot where Houston clearly got a first down which would have given Houston first and goal and robbed them of a chance to tie or win the game. Kansas State could have beaten Texas in Austin had their field goal kicker not chocked and the coach gone brain dead in OT.

Oregon lost their game on the road because the field goal kicker missed a game winner. They have pretty much rolled everyone since. Both Texas' and Oregon's losses came a week apart at mid season. So the "who lost last" thing isn't as big a factor. And of course Texas kind of gets screwed by the "yeah, but it was week one" factor as far as the Bama victory.

Both are damn good teams. There are going to be at least four really good one loss teams this year no matter what happens.

Yes, OK State plays Texas in the Big 12 Championship if they beat BYU today

They would be in a 3 way tie with Oklahoma and K State and would earn the spot in the championship game by virtue of owning the head to head against both teams
