Yeah, but don't forget the ACC expanded and now has 14 teams, so that means 7 have to leave. That many teams would be almost impossible to coordinate. I think the ONLY way, would be for the original Southern ACC teams to band together, all leave at once, and then form an "Atlantic division" to the SEC.

They would pay about $50 million each, and at $100 million a year (SEC rates) vs $35 million a year (ACC rate) they would pay it off quick

Because they are the biggest unaffiliated name out there and a natural fit for the big 10ish. They would look at 80,000,000 a year versus the half arse ACC deal and jump.

And doing so opens the door to a modification to the GoR the ACC has in place.
