You can't really make this assumption. Your starting a new QB, yea he looked good in limited duty last year. He did not play consistently a whole season with the pressure of being a starting QB. He is good and I am not saying that he won't step up the whole year. But you are making an assumption like this guy has been starting for multiple years.
You don't have to start for multiple years to be a good QB. You either are or you aren't, and IMO he is. He's not a 19 year old Freshman, he's a 4th year player under Petrino who has seen playing time on the field each of the last three seasons.

I don't think you need to worry about us in any capacity. Now that KD is out, you can move onto Bama dealings. Yes?

I would not be comfortable where they are at at the moment with that JUCO kid at one OT spot and a true freshman currently at guard with the 1's.
While I agree with you on the JUCO at OT, I don't have any qualms whatsoever with start a true freshman at guard. He won't be asked to do near as much at guard as he would have been at tackle. That made me much more nervous. Also,he has been in the program since January and went through spring practice so it's not like last week was his first time on the field in college.

Guard is obviously much easier to transition into than OT in this league (or any), you still have to take some lumps with a true freshman starting on the OL anywhere in this league with all the great DLinemen in this league.

Top 4 defense? Lulz
And they have NO shot of winning the west.

If Petrino accomplishes at Arky what Miles has at LSU, you'll name the stadium after him.

JJ at QB
We won more games with JJ as our QB last year than Arkansas has won in a season since joining the SEC.

Hey, if you're happy with what you got, the more power to ya! I'll stick with Petrino and Wilson, and you can keep Miles and JJ.

The most interesting points to me are:
1. We know more about Johnson and Wingo than LSU does about Ware/Whomever is 2nd. 50 career carries between 3 "green" backs does not a portfolio make.
2. We know JJ sucks.
3. We know Arkansas' D finished 5th last season and may improve.
4. We know LSU fans have zero clue what your offense will look like under StudMiKrag.
5. We know until you beat us, Scoreboard.

#7
We go by points, not yards in terms of what matters piggy.

When did we have the chance to win it? Not with the mighty Tide, Tigers in the same division as the hogs? Thinking we could ever win the west in any year is laughable.

Right, I agree with that which is why I am glad he gets three tune up games before heading to Bama. I in no way shape or form think our running game was going to be as good as last years even with Davis. There is going to be some regression when losing 3 olinemen. However, I am pretty encouraged to hear how well Brey has been doing in practice since being moved inside and it gives me hope that the line will be better by the end of the season than I anticipated when they had him out at tackle and he was getting blown by regularly.

I don't think losing any single player completely ruins the Hogs chance at winning the west, unless that player is Tyler Wilson. We have a stable of running backs that are capable of producing for this offense. It won't be easy without the help of a beast like Knile Davis, of course. If Dennis Johnson can run the ball like he showed he could a couple years back and Wingo realizes the oppurtunity in front of him the Hogs will be just fine. There was a lot of talk about how many skill position players the Hogs have to field this year and now everyone thinks the loss of ONE player (not trying to downgrade the importance of Knile Davis) means the Hogs are doomed. IMO the Hogs will be just fine and this injury just means the defense needs to step up and be leaders and the veteran receivers will have to make big plays, which both are capable of this year.
