Teams will adjust to that style of play, but the biggest difference will be in the officiating. The Officials won't adjust their pace to fit the HUNH style this year, and there will be an extra official.
this claim seems familiar...
almost as if it was made in years past...

Bama had an emotional win over Chattanooga the week before the Iron Bowl. Auburn caught Bama tired and worn down.
Even I had to laugh at that one.

Wait and see. The Officials are going to go at a methodical pace and not whistle the ball ready to play until all the Officials are in place and their reads have been made. This didn't happen last year. They were slinging the ball into the Official that spotted the ball and he blew the whistle for the ball to be in play before the other officials were set. This led to horrible officiating. That will be rectified this year.

quote:Anyone who thought teams would be able to game plan and completely stop Johnny Manziel after watching a year of film, were fooling themselves... LSU did, but they also did well against him during his Heisman year. They just had his number. He was in a wide open offense surrounded by playmakers and a terrible defense...there was no way he wouldn't have another great year.
Last offseason, I received a good education how it is possible for a new coach and new QB to give SEC defenses trouble for one season, but with the whole offseason to study film and prepare, they'll be shut down in year two.
The only thing that would have possibly slowed Johnny Manziel down, was if Johnny Manziel slowed himself down. I thought, if he did have a downfall, it would be because of his off-the-field theatrics.
Auburn's offense will still be damn near impossible to stop. Auburn has one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in college football, a stable of backs, 2 of the best wide receivers in the SEC, 4/5 starters returning on the offensive line, and Gus Malzahn calling plays. If you thought last year's team was crazy good on offense, prepare your anus for 2014.

So you are hopeful based on AU scoring 31 points on the #1 defense in the country. That has to keep you up at night.

That's a crock of shite. Auburn's offense revolves around the QB read, and when it's taken away, you'll have a converted DB either throwing it up for grabs, or running for his life. I can't wait

You're missing we came out flat in the second half... Our 3rd cost us the game.... 4th quarter we went right back to rushing down their throats

Hell, look what FSU did in the 2nd half after playing against it for 2 quarters.

We only scored 10 points in the second half, so obviously, the offense has been figured out and we'll never score again.

It's just a gimmicky, high-school, Micky-Mouse offense with a few plays that only sees minor success because of the pace it moves. It'll never work in the SEC. Ever.

Willy did last year but I do think it is figured out it won't have the same success next year you can get lucky once but your luck ran out against Florida State back to the bottom Aulbern

Haha.
It's going to be so fun when Aubie's start hating Gus' offense again.

quote:It was hated in 2011 because we didn't have a quarterback (Clint Moseley, Barrett Trotter, LOL) or offensive line (4 brand new starters) to run it. You can't shine a turd, and nearly that entire offense was made up of first-time starters and turds (AJ Greene, Trovon Reed, DeLo Benton, Barrett Trotter, Clint Moseley John Sullen), mixed in with a couple of stars (Mike Dyer, Reese Dismukes).
It's going to be so fun when Aubie's start hating Gus' offense again.
That is different now. Don't expect anyone to hate the offense anytime soon.

Yup. They hated it in 2011, especially Pat Dye. It's hilarious. They spring a gimmick Offense on the SEC and lose 2 games, and think they're world beaters. Missouri, South Carolina and Bama also had two losses last year. See them bragging up a storm like AU fans? 3-5 losses for Auburn this year, bank it.

Nobody hated it in 2011, they hated that they did not have any QBs to run it. This years offense will look nothing like it did last year, that is why the bammers are so worried.

I understand a 2 loss season is a cause for celebration for Auburn fans, and a cause for depression for Bama fans. That's just the way God made it. I can do nothing about it.
