Not replying to anyone in particular, but yes.
I hope there are riots. Ole Miss fans need to stand up for their traditions. It's not the fanbase I don't like. It's the administration.
After languishing away in Shitvegas for 3 years, I'd love to call a town so rich in history as Oxford home, but as I've said before, I can't support a school that's so ashamed of itself.

Yup, with a weapon against an unarmed man. Funny part is that Brooks did it because of a Speech that made fun of his uncle.
It was not an Illegal war it was an illegal secession by the southern states and what do you think was going to happen.
Just like you this is my opinion.

Same way I fell about lazy southern farmers using forced labor to do their work or the Burning of Georgia. Don't pick a fight you can't win.

Why does the Ole Miss Black Bear have to be black? I think it is totally racist! I am totally offended...

Slavery played a part. That does not stop me from thinking it was an illegal war, despising Lincoln, being happy the bastard got his brains blown out when he did, or wishing we never went North to Gettysburg.
I'd never say that about an AMERICAN PRESIDENT. :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa: :usa:

Administration is a bunch of pussies, I will admit that. But some of the traditions like the confederate flag needed to be taken away.

It would be truly tasteless if the burning happened within our lifetime
The comment about it being "to bad it didn't spend a little longer in the fire" kind of implies that you wish it did occur within this lifetime.
Thus, tasteless.

Then why did Lincoln propose an amendment to the Constitution AFTER the Southern secession....... which would PERMANENTLY prevent the federal government from ever intevening on the issue of slavery??????
Answer: you're a brain-washed product of the public school system and have no idea what the frick you are talking about.........

The only worry I had about the Aggies going to the SEC is that we would be pulled into the racist culture of the south.
I am glad the south lost and hope ole miss is ashamed of their past actions.
We have lived down our own history but even at our worst we never showed the kind of racism common at tu and other schools.

That is WEAK GWT. The " spend more time in the fire" was meant to say that it didn't burn the mentality of "slavery is good" out of the common mans thoughts. So therefore needed to spend a lil more time slow roasting.

If it bothered today's generation of black kids, they wouldn't go to ole miss. That term isn't going anywhere. Our fricking president is black (for now)
While I wish more people would take the time to educate themselves on the true meaning of the Confederate flag, I realize that's not going to happen. People want to be spoonfed their history by textbooks and college professors. As long as this happens, we'll always have a skewed view of our own history.
That said, yeah I can see how the rebel flag may raise eyebrows today as sad as that is.

Please explain this.
Because if you are correct.......Then that means the fricking Declaration of INdpendence itself is incorrect........and that it was wrong for the original 13 colonies to secede from Great Britain and create the 13 United States.
You are a complete imbecile.

You and I know the meaning of that particular southern flag. Most do not because it is not directly related to them or their history.
Symbols change meaning over time. fact of life. Pentagram, Swastica, Cross and the Confederate Jack. The come to stand for what the populous associates most with the symbol. SO if dumb arse rednecks would stop using a Confederate battle flag to tape their bumpers on, or as a KKK symbol, then it probably would have a different meaning, even if just slightly.

Ole Miss should never be dropped, nor the Rebels.
It is part of history. Libs in this country try to paint over history by fighting to get historical novels like Tom Sawyer banned from the class rooms. All this does is a disservice to kids of all races. It is a major part of this nation's history.
Time and time again, when history is forgotten, it repeats itself. The lessons learned are lost, and the mistakes repeated.
