Coach O loses to BAMA and Florida and sucks. Ole Tom loses to Navy and SMU and is still a rock star. Got to love the logic on here

Listen man, if he can develop QBs and he's at LSU that's really all they've been missing from being in the hunt for NC's and SECCG every season. If Les Miles offense can get LSU 10 win seasons imagine if they had someone who can develop QBs and throw all of this "sustaining program" bullshite out the window. We at LSU do not care about all the other bullshite if he can get us a QB and get our offense rolling. With aranda at DC and the recruiting available at LSU he'd sustain this program no problem. If Les' monkey offense can sustain our program so can he. That's just how most LSU fans see it but I guess I should just keep listening to the vandy fan preaching to me about coaching stablility.

Are you biased? I feel like you might be biased.
But, seriously, whoever it was on the first page that made the observation about the triple-option, he was correct. Can be damned hard to defend, even for good teams. Five might even be an underestimation.

Yeah, I have to admit, it is funny

If you wanted a hc that ignored the obvious and downplayed the advantages his team had over the inferior opponent who beat them, you could have kept les.

Because fans have absolutely no ability to remember the past when desperate for a hot new hire. CFB history is littered with coaches that seemed to be home-run hires, only to flame out.
Sumlin was 12-1 in his last year at Houston.
That's before he was hired in 2012 at A&M and made his and Manziel's career off on one win. That shine's about all gone by now.
No reason to think Herman will do better or worse--you just never know sometimes.
I am glad it looks like Jimbo turned them down, if only to remind them they haven't earned God-tier college status, and that move was lateral at best for Jimbo.

I'll take him over Gus right now.

He clearly doesn't even remember when Les started JJ in that national championship after Lee had an above average season. He probably wasn't even a bama fan yet.

I don't see the big deal in this Jesus Christ guy. I mean do we really know what a guy from a tiny town like Bethlehem could do when he's given the keys to Jerusalem? Need to get someone more proven IMO

As an Aggie, sick of losing to LSU, Orgeron staying at LSU scares me the most. The man can flat out recruit and he lives and breathes South Louisiana. Something about Herman makes me think he's no better than Sumlin. While I'm ready for us to fire Sumlin, I wouldn't want us to go after Herman.
But again, what the frick do I know?
I prefer Jimbo and if not Jimbo, Petrino. I agree that Herman is a gamble, but people completely dismissing his credentials are ignorant

At least Herman beat Louisville. And petrino is a cockmongler. Just stop

Super hard to win at Houston, nobody has ever won there.....

Blowout wins against good P5 teams suggest a very high ceiling and he is relatively young. If he pans out, you could be set for the next 20 years.
Of course, you've got to weigh that against the losses to inferior teams. The question is which if either would follow him to a program with top tier talent. Will he dominate, or will he continue to inexplicably shait the bed in some games? That question simply can't be answered until he gets a job.

If Herman isn't hired, the whole tone of this thread will change and the SECr will act like TH is Bear Bryant and Vince Lombardi reincarnated

Today's game doesn't mean anything to him. He knows that he will not be there next year . It doesn't seem like there is a HC out there who has done better and has more experience . Most young Head coaches are hired before they have been much.
