But they have been telling the same jokes since 1997 and it just isn't funny anymore. Come up with some new material.

Yes and I doubt he cares. He went for the money. He couldnt hack it in the NFL and Bama's checkbook made his return to college easy.

If and when he wants to leave he will. He has no loyalty and never will.

FWIW The Bear would not have approved of his hiring. I'm sure the Bear would have bribed/begged no man to be the coach at bama. His thinking would have been Bama is bigger than any head coach candidate.

Cleary, thats not the case with $abun which is why there are no hooks in any of his contracts.

So one day we are blowing him and acting like he is God, and the next day we aren't giving him enough praise. Got cha. Y'all need to make up your minds.

That's it Bama fans. Next one of you that ever speaks that man's name again is disassociated from the program.

What's funny is I hardly ever see a Bear Bryant thread started by a Bama fan. It is usually a rival fan that feels the need to tell us we worship the man.

Btw.. Vince Lombardi's name is on the damn super bowl trophy. You don't get much more "worshipped" than that. Please tell me you aren't trying to compare a college baseball coach to a football coach? Next time 90,000 attend a LSU baseball game you can compare the two sports.

Alabama signed him for 36 mil, but now has annual revenues above 100 mil and a 100,000+ seat stadium to go along with a championship caliber team.

I think Mal Moore is the one laughing himself to sleep every night.

Alabama fans are not nearly as obsessed with "The Barrr" as rival fans like to think we are. The younger fans of the 40 and under range really don't care that much about him. We respect him for being a great coach and making Alabama football what it is, but Mike Dubose was the last straw in this idea that everything about Alabama football must include a "what would Bear do" clause.

YEt still works hard enough to bring in Number 1 recruiting classes, three straight top ten finishes, and a national title. Yep, we love the man.

Exactly. Is this guy really arguing that Bama fans don't like Saban enough?

I think that's probably true

Bragging about football you never saw is just something a lot of fans do to win an argument... the more removed it is from your lifetime the less relevant it is to you

If not for $abans greed Mal Moore was on his way to being fired. And yes the hiring of $aban has worked for bama. However, the facts are clear. $aban was made the highest paid coach in college at bama before he ever coached a single game their. Pathetic for a school who says their head coaching job is the best in the country,

What ever Miles makes he earned while at LSU FWIW.

Best job should pay the best, no? By the way, he won quicker at Bama than he did at LSU.

So miles win one national title and one sec title, and he's earned it, but Sabana wins two national titles and three sec titles and he hasn't earned it? Does this make any sense?

What is your point? Any sane Bama fan would admit that if we were offering Saban 1.5 mil a year he would not have left the Dolphins for us. He is a 4-5 mil a year caliber coach and that is what we were looking for. Therefore we paid the money it took to land a coach of that caliber.

It's not like we went out and got Will Muschamp and paid him $4 million. Saban had proven over his career he was one of the best college head coaches in the business and we did what we had to do to get him to come to Bama. How exactly is that pathetic?
