Drinkwitz has family living nearby. He is now getting to the point of building the football program the right way. Why would he want to start all over again?

No one is offering so he doesn’t have to worry about it. That was my point. He’s not turning jobs down because there are no offers.

Why would anyone offer Drinkwitz a job while he is very happy and building something special. Thank you for your interest in Mizzou. Now go away.

OU made an embarrassing entry into the SEC. At this point they are considered cellar dwellers until proven otherwise. I know the Nebraska reference has been made ad nauseum but it is dead on accurate.

Same attitude from their entitled fans moving into a new conference. Instead of humility they come in thinking this is another version of the crappy Big 12. They learned quickly it isn't. Take a look at last year's season.

Recruiting will take a severe hit just like Nebraska. Glory days of yester year are now over. Best accept it.

OU will be a middling program in the SEC forever.

You can shove your rude little prick-arse southern "culture club" nonsense straight up your own arse.

We really don't give a f*ck.

10 years ago it might but the NIL and portal era has made it easier to turn a program around pretty quickly if you are willing to spend the money. Texas Tech is a perfect example.

Oklahoma is a proud program. I wouldn't count on them fading into obscurity.

Regarding OU: Given a coaching change that will most certainly happen with another bad season, the chances of finding a stellar coach is not good at all. It would be interesting to see the historical stats on this.......the chance of landing a coach that elevates the program vs. one that harms it. I know what happened at UGA following Dooly, then you look a Tennessee and their decade or so in the wilderness following Fulmer, Florida following Meyer, Auburn following...... etc. IMHO the chances of landing a stellar coach vs a horrible one seems almost infinitesimal. Sabans, Smarts, Days aren't a dime a dozen. It seem that it's almost a given once a powerhouse moves on from a winning coach they are destined for 20 years in the wilderness. The exceptions to this are very, very rare. I think given this fact OU stands a much better chance of becoming irrelevant vs. relevant very quickly, IFFFF BV doesn't right the ship this year.

Few fans understand what hiring the wrong coach can do to a program like we do. We just lived through Charlie Strong and Tom Herman.

You're not wrong. I just know that, in the past, people have said they were a dead program only to see them bounce back. The problem is, like you said, it's not easy to find the next Bob Stoops.

Yes. Texas is another good example. How many years did you guys spend in the wilderness and how many coaches did you go through?

This is the correct comparison.

Such a shame to see OU fall, but Bama will keep them company if NIL stays around.

I'm getting the distinct impression I'm conversing with a 6 year old. Think I'll bow out to keep you from embarrassing yourself even further. Besides, I don't know if my ego can endure your withering critique of my rationale.

OU is talented enough to run the table with the right pieces.
