Unless he was to carry the team after injuries to the tailback corp, I do not see him producing enough highlight plays to impress the casual voters

Dyron Carter, son of Cris Carter, since Cris sings his praises so often.

He has another son that signed with Bama, or is this fella speaking of Duron Carter?

Because I heard Duron wasn't allowed around the team at differing points in time this past year. Seems he's had some discipline & focus issues.

Before the national championship game most of the talking heads said that LSU was better than Alabama at the QB position. Colin Cowherd called McCarron "horrible", etc. The consensus was that Alabama would lose due to inadequate play against LSU's defense at the QB position. AJ came out and lit up the LSU defense throwing on first down numerous times.

My opinion is that AJ will be in the discussion next if Alabama is in position to repeat. If they are not Alabama obviously won't have anyone in serious contention.

Duron, Duran...........i wouldnt name my kid that anyway. He fell into some eligibility issues this year with academics i think. Should be red shirted for that year and eligible for this year.

But dont let me stop you.

Also Dee Hart will play, a scat back with WR skills. He sat out this year with an injury, but otherwise definatly wouldve played.

Point? McCarron will have some weapons.

You must've heard a different consensus than the rest of us. All I heard was how 11/5 was a fluke (and apparently it was )

Let's calm down a bit here. Geno Smith lit up LSU's defense. McCarron managed a solid game and didn't make any mistakes. There's a huuuuuuuge difference.

Be glad of that by the way - unless you have Cam Newton, most SEC teams win with a game manager at QB, rather than a game changer. Too many liabilities when you rely on your QB to put up Heisman numbers.

So in short, this thread is stupid. Bama is great, we get it. You don't have to have the best player at every position on the field too.

It takes an awful lot of street cred to refer to yourself in 3P. You really think you've earned it?

So do you think these stats are anywhere near heisman worthy for a QB?

Probably not. And in Alabama's offense not much of a chance for many more attempts. Don't mean he ain't a fine QB though.

Completion % is the best stat for a QB imo, but yeah I think McCannon will be on a few lists preseason, and may hop into the top five at random points in the season, but I doubt he goes to NYC.

No. Bama won the NC in spite of him. In fact, he probably hindered the process.

I like the yards per attempt stat best (obviously assuming there is a decent sample size). High yards per attempt + few interceptions usually equals a winning QB.
