There's been 2 teams that have run on om some this year: ull and bama.

Ull:
37 att 193 yards 5.2 avg
44 att 168 yards 3.8 avg

Vandy, aTm, and tenn couldn't run at all, but they're ranked 13th, 10th, and 14th respectively in the sec. Bama is 5th in the sec and lsu is 6th.

I'm not sure if lsu can line up and run on om on 1st down. I think the best approach is PA on 1st down and take shots downfield some early in the game to move the safeties back. If lsu can stretch the field with a deep pass, I think they can run some then.

Why would OM respect LSU's PA game?

Yea - LSU has to throw to set up the run. However, with their passing situation, that is dangerous against OM.

Gonna be a tough game for Cameron to call.

UAB had 400 passing yards on y'all. A&M is going to carve your secondary to shreds

I have to think that LSU can have success if Louisiana did

How many of those ULL yards came in the last 10 minutes I wonder.

Probably not bc Jennings sucks. We won't respect their passing game other than Dural sideline streaks patterns.

A one-dimension offensive team isn't beating Ole Miss.

Om will be crashing the line early bc everyone knows lsu wants to run. Lsu certainly can't conplete passes on om in obvious passing situations. Early down PA could be effective.

What exactly has LSU done since the Auburn disaster to make us think they are ready to play toe to toe with Ole Miss (other than that they are "LSU")?

They barely won in Gainesville against a dumpster fire Florida bunch.

They hammered Kentucky, which was a solid win in the way they won, but Kentucky's run defense is pretty bad.

Because Dural can burn you.

Yeah that's pretty accurate.

If Ole Miss changed into Alabama uniforms nobody would give LSU a chance in this game.

The public is delving into the history angle too hard - the players DGAF about what happened in 2011. Ole Miss has better players and should win the game.

I think they can put up 150. They still need 200 or more through the air though.

Disagree, folks would still say it was an "interesting matchup" due to night at Death Valley, history of teams, etc etc.

But yea, it is clearly not a toss-up. LSU will have to play it's best game of the year and make some things happen to win.

I think they're going to start by running right at Nkimdickcheese - wherever he lines up will be where the play is called to.

Alabama is ranked 24th nationally running the ball at 224 ypg. while also ranked 26th passing the ball for 291 ypg

LSU, OTOH, is ranked 26th rushing at 221 ypg - with no appreciable passing threat (96th, 194 ypg).

Basically LSU has been running the ball about as well as Alabama, but against 8-9 man fronts. I don't think this game will be as hard to call as you say.

I think lsu will need more than a little luck to win, but they've got 3 things that could help them:

1. Pass defense -- #1 in the sec

2. A good ol and rbs

3. They don't turn the ball over. Om's def sets their offense up with TO's.

They're gonna have to get something out of Jennings though

What has Ole Miss done other than beat an overrated Bama team?

Well they didn't get blown out by us, so that pretty firmly puts them above anything LSU has done against good competition in the SEC this year.
