this topic interesting and it’s the same opposing pov on Stetson. Two years ago Monken sucked and Stetson sucked per the OP Now, GA can’t win without either of them
It’s quite humorous

Not until the playoffs. I can’t imagine anyone on this schedule plus whomever the SECW decides to trot out there for the SECCG will be an issue.
As a fellow Dawg I like the enthusiasm but might think about pumping the brakes just a little...one of Alabama, LSU or ATM could be a handful for the Dawgs for 3 quarters or maybe 3.33 quarters.

Yes and a lot more than they pretend
This is the most underrated storyline this year with everyone just penciling them in

The question mark for the dawgs is actually the defense.
Will we get something closer to the 2021 defense? The linebackers and safeties are at that level.
Will we get something closer to the 2022 defense? Question marks are on the DL and CB.
The regular season doesn't show anyone who could potentially challenge us at CB (we are expecting that challenge from Bama or Ohio St).
Does the DL develop and emerge like the 2021 group? (they were the no name defense before the following draft).
All of that to say... very good offensive production could get us into the playoffs (i.e. 2021) for 2023. An elite offense (which is very possible with the OL, 4th year QB, and weapons at WR) could get us to the playoffs even if we see a drop-off from the defense after 2022.

I think we probably take a step back defensively early on...but it won't matter a lot with the schedule. I think by Halloween the D will be as good as it has been the last 2 seasons. I hope the passing D is better by the SEC CG or a threepeat ain't happening....but the schedule sets up nicely to be healthy and get some experience in meaningful games

We are going to have some exposure at CB this season.
CB2 could take leaps forward. But there is a governor on CB1.
The good news is that we have elite safeties at 3 spots (include nickel). And we know how to generate pass rush. Especially by seasons end.
That is partly why the offense will be important.
I trust McConkey and Arian Smith to take the top off with Bowers and Lovett to get YAC underneath all season. We are going to see 25+ yard TDs like never before at UGA.

Spot on. Not even counting the surprise contributors that emerge every season. The schedule is admittedly embarassingly weak but you can only play who is on the schedule. It does indeed set up nicely to get some experience at every position and with some luck remain healthy for the guantlet at seasons end if things go right.

I don't doubt that Bobo is fully capable. Good points about the defense. The Dawgs are definitely the cream of the crop now. We are all striving to get there or get back there...

The schedule looks embarrassing now. I'm betting it won't look that way from a poll standpoint at the end of the regular season.
It doesn't really matter to those on the left side. If Kentucky is ranked 15th, they'll still feel every team on their side is better. If the East has a better record in the head to head, won't matter either. They'd still argue Arkansas between Bielema and Pittman was as good as Vandy with Franklin. Just the way it is.

Bobo, when he's had well above average skill players and a capable QB, has been great.
My worry is there is always one game that he can't seem to figure out the opposing D or make the adjustment. 2012 S.C. comes to mind, 2014 UF, and a few others. At the same time, never had an Oline like this one, nor a defense that will give him time to figure things out.
Will he and Beck be up to it in a shootout like Ohio State? That's a big question.
Regardless of what people think of the schedule, Georgia will have to win two games at the end to win it all and may have to win the one in Atlanta as well. It was never gonna be easy, even if Todd was still running things.

Of course they will!!
But, I do know that more than a few games last year Bobo was allowed to come up with the offensive game plan and design the offensive series in those games. One of those games being the SEC Championship Game.. Bobo will be able to call the correct plays, my question mark is Carson Beck? He’s my biggest concern going into this year!
The defense will only give up 10-15 points a game this year( on average).. and possibly put up some points!
I trust in Bobo, but the first time it’s 3rd and 10+ and he runs a shotgun draw I’m gonna curse!

Bobo was shite in his early years but by the time he left UGA we had one of the most scoring offenses in the SEC if not the country.
Monken will definitely be missed and Bobo is going to catch some shite when he tries to out think a defense on a crucial 3rd down by doing so...in the end, we should be fine.

Absolutely 110%. Hopefully Bobo learned some things from him.

Yes, we miss Monken, he was great for UGA, but Bobo is just gonna pick up where he left off.

every uga poster in this thread has said that we will.
This is another one of those false narratives that opposing fans make up then run with even though it's not actually true.
