I want to go to an iron bowl at both stadiums in my lifetime...I didn't have any bad experiences with any fans although being a dumb college junior and mad about the game I did flip the bird a couple times after the auburn lsu game in 09... Overall though I had an excellent experience at both facilities but as far passion goes I got to give it to auburn...the eagle flying over the stadium then the fans yelling gave me chills

I remember a drunk sorority girl throwing toilet paper and me and my gf at the time but it was all in good fun

lolz, keep telling yourself that

I've been to both and I can safely say JHS is louder.

I personally didn't think JHS was anything special. The swamp and neyland are both much louder. The tailgating scene is also pretty dull.

Personal anecdotes are a wonderful standard for judging what is an actually measurable event.

They have made numerous changes in the past five years that have killed the tailgating atmosphere in campus...they have really pushed all the tailgating out down Donahue and that sucks. It is just so tough to get into the middle of campus now that no one wants to deal with it. The amphitheater is still solid, and all the area around Old Row is good. I hope that once they tear down Parker Hall in the next year? or so that the amphitheater atmosphere will envelop the connected green space.

Can't say about the Swamp since I've never been, but the only time I've been in Neyland it was dead quiet. It probably helped that we sent most of the Tenner fans home by halftime (2004 ).

Oh and about JHS's atmosphere? LINK This is from before a game versus a non rival OOC team. In driving rain. With a lot of fans under the concourse due to a lightning alert. It's loud as frick. The field took 3.75 inches of rain in an hour and for the entire game the announcers did not stop talking about how good the field conditions were.

JHS

1. Surprised he didn't say Soldier Field is the best.
2. Anyone find it weird that he's good friends with Charles Barkley and thinks this..

Most fun game I went to as an undergrad (not the best game, not the most exciting, but definitely the most fun). Absolutely flooding for about an hour. 5 turnovers. The student section singing "Who'll stop the rain" and the guy leading the halves of the student section in Auburn...Tigers is one of my favorite memories from my time at AU. Just awesome.

Didn't read all 9 pages, which I am sure is a homer flame-fest, but here are my thoughts:

JHS has a pretty unattractive exterior (needs to be bricked), but the interior is pretty nice.

Anyone who says that it is not an incredible atmosphere during a big game is a homer who is full of shite and or has never been.

I have been to UGA, UF, UT, LSU, and Bama for big games. To be honest, there really is not much of a difference in the atmosphere and loudness among them. They all get incredibly loud and have wonderful atmospheres with unique traditions.

We are damn lucky to be around SEC stadiums and not forced to go to ACC games.

Anyone who says that JHS isn't loud must be deaf. I've been numerous times in wins and defeats and that place is right up there.

the atmosphere

The atmosphere outside JHS leading up to the game and after is one of the best I've ever seen. Inside it's cool watching the eagle then it is just average. And the stadium itself is probably 4th or 5th best in the SEC. But the gameday atmosphere is just awesome.

Best stadium for people with money is Tiger Stadium. All the other suites are enclosed behind glass because you fricking Baptists that make the rules in the SEC don't allow drinking in the stadiums. Suites and club seats are actually a separate building and are outside. I've been in suites in Auburn, Tuscallosa and won't go to anymore in the SEC outside Tiger Stadium, like watching a game in your living room

The Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses also played a role in that as well.

Might want to try it this year.

The Nam?

If that's Fayetteville I'll be there, wanted to go there for years, little Rock is the worst stadium where SEC games are played, what a dump

Yep, Fayettenam. Closer to the game let me know, we'll (probably wmr) put together a guide for fellow SEC Ranters.
