We lost 24-23. We took a 23-17 lead like more than halfway through the 4th quarter. Instead of trying for the two point conversion we kicked an extra point. It ended up costing us a shot at the national championship.

Who won it all that year?

That's an understatement.

Bama alum are willing to pay for players at a rate not seen in the entire nation outside Auburn Al. You'll see this when you look at major sanctions of SEC teams.

The last time we had major sanctions we didn't win shite. Dumb statement is dumb.

Nebraska. But they were beatable in '94. The juggernaut Nebraska team didn't rear its head until a year later. Had we beaten Nebraska in the Orange Bowl we more than likely would have split the national championship with Penn State.

Why was Fran even at Bama to begin with?
He inherited a freshman Ladainian Tomlinson and had Gary Patterson covering his arse at TCU. Made it seem like he was turnaround artist.

He took us from 3-8 to 7-5 in his first year. Hate on what he did at A&M all you want, but he had things going in the right direction in Tuscaloosa until he bailed on us.

I never understood that. I love Gene Stallings, but he was uber conservative sometimes.

I was just wondering if anyone had any insight as to why though, other than the obvious, that Bama is Bama and they're just A&M.
Answered your own question. Bama is to A&M as a tiger is to a domestic cat.

Apparently. I mean if Dubose and Shula can carve out 10 wins, I guess anyone can.
