obviously, due to the fact OU plays in the state of Texas, and Auburn was still playing in the state of Alabama, it isn't the same.
You crybabies fought to keep the game in legion.
And lost.

The ticket split was 35% to Auburn, 35% to Alabama, and 30% to the City of Birmingham. It would take a fool to not understand why Auburn wanted it moved once JHS was enlarged and the infrastructure around Auburn improved.

What is the basis of bama fans' aversion to cows? Are most of yall vegetarians or something? There's nothing better than eating a Grade- A steak!

Auburn would have continued to play UGA in Columbus for many years but Columbus screwed things up from what I remember reading.

In the early days, games were played where you could draw a crowd.
Birmingham was a big city. Had a big stadium.
Auburn played Georgia in Columbus until around 1960.
As student enrollment and campus stadia grew it made sense to do home and home.
Auburn played GaTech in Atlanta for a long time.
Auburn played Alabama in Birmingham until we expanded our stadium and worked out a deal to play home and home.
Tennessee did not play in Auburn until 1974. Until that year Auburn would host in Birmingham. We also hosted UT in Birmingham in 1976 and 1978, but until expansion killed the AU-UT game we played in JHS.
