I honestly think if Petrino was hired at LSU rather than Miles he would've had even more success than Les.
I agree with this. Miles has done a good job of keeping the program at a high level after Saban restored it. But you can't honestly watch any of our teams the last few years and say that we come as a really well coached team.
Petrino can clearly coach, You know his offenses will be top 3 in the league every year and he'll always have a good qb. The reason Ark is set up for a run this year is because that defense is very experienced. I'll be curious to see how he sustains the defense over the next few years after this current crop of jrs/srs move on.

We recruit Eastern Oklahoma and Eastern Texas pretty hard.
We go pretty far to get kids, Canada anyone?

Our team last year was very well coached. Deficient in areas and especially on offense but coached very well. The one reason we managed to keep games close.

why doesn't crow pie run some numbers on Petrino or Nutt after this season or better yet, 2 seasons after this. Of course this could be Nutt's last season at Ole Miss if he does not MSU and or can not win 6 or 7 games.

However....LSU really needs to either win another championship or beat arkansas again sooner rather than later or you will have doubters about miles...even in your own fanbase
Nothing there to disagree with. There is a portion of LSU's fanbase that will still hate Miles even after he brings another SEC Championship or National Championship. But he does need to compete for them obviously.

You could go out of state and recruit in places like east Texas?
yes because trying to lure recruits from East Texas to Fayetteville against programs like Texas and OU is comparable to getting a kid from Shreveport to come to LSU.

4 of our 15 commits are from Texas, 3 from Oklahoma.

Good, then you shouldn't use the excuse that poor arky is handicapped in recruiting. If you are a top tier program in the SEC, you should be able to go out of state and get the players you need, and you should win championships.

Just basic game management by the coaches should have cost us a game at home to a team that had half our talent. luckily their coaches were equally as dumb, but that doesn't change or excuse how we handled the end of that game. the year before it did happen. that's 2 seasons in a row where just basic game management cost or should have cost us a game. that shouldn't happen, that's embarrasing.
Also, a well coached team should have a competent qb, especially with multiple qbs in the roster with a lot of experience.

Oversimplification.
We have to work a lot harder for what we get than an LSU or Bama, and even with that extra work our classes aren't going to be rated as highly (for you star gazers).

Fo the love of all things good just stop it.
Les Miles has had TWICE as many 11 win or better seasons (4) in his 6 years at LSU as Arkansas has had (2) in the entire history of their program going back 116 years.
Chart this:
4 times in 6 years >>>>> 2 times in 116 yrs

All I've gathered from this thread is that Crow Pie is trying way too hard to try to win a meaningless debate.
The Razorback fanbase as a whole is a lot more confident and generally happier with Petrino at the helm than when Nutt was here over the similar amount of time.
It doesn't matter if Nutt won more games over an arbitrary 3-year span than Petrino. The scenarios are completely different and it is silly to try to extrapolate any sort of viable information from just looking at overall records. The only conclusion that is easily recognized is which program is on the rise and which one was busy getting nestled and comfy in continuous mediocrity for nearly the next decade.
I'm hoping after the next season this whole Nutt vs. Petrino thing can finally be put to rest.
This will be the first year that Petrino is completely running the team with his players who have been exposed to only his gameplan. There are no longer any players that had to go through Nutt-aholics Anonymous to filter out all of the stupidity that bozo plagued their minds with.
Petrino's fourth year has a team that many have said will compete for the top spot in by-far the most difficult division in college football, and they are even a popular choice for being a dark-horse national championship contender. Did you hear any of this during Nutt's fourth year at Arkansas? Absolutely not.

Crow Pie chose the wrong side of the debate regarding Nutt vs. Petrino, for any remote chance of "winning".

Why the LSU-Arkansas animosity on here?
We both play in the most competitive division in college football.
Lately, the games have been intense and close.
Does there need to be any other reason?
