And Burrow had only been with the team for a few months before the season started.
There are true freshman QB's who had better numbers than Burrow (a RS Jr at the time) and they enrolled around the same time or even later, so stop with the excuses
Looks like you fellas are using every analytic and excuse you can to make the guy look better than he is.
You must not know jack shite about the LSU offense. When LSU completes a forward pass, it's like the caveman creating fire. It's a big accomplishment.
You put those true freshman QBs in LSU's offense (especially last year) and you'd have a shite-show of epic proportions. Maybe you're not aware of this, but all offenses are not created equal.
The question was about why there is hype for Burrow. I didn't make any excuses. I said his number were very average (although 23 total TDs to 5 Ints. for a 1st-year starter is actually pretty damn good). However, he did have the least talented backfield and most inexperienced set of WRs that I've seen at LSU probably in 2 decades and I simply said LSU fans expect a big step up this year with everyone having more experience. We're about to find out if the hype is warranted.

In terms of LSU’s quarterback’s, he’s essentially joe Montana/Peyton Manning/drew brees. We have had nothing else that is even worth a damn. So of course this a big deal for us.

To have a quarterback that can play for four full quarters takes hard hits, and then gets up and plays better. No one has to bail Burrow out to finish the game. Thankfully Tua will have a quarter to re-coop in that cryogenic chamber--either from a hit or from his nerves as he sees our d-line coming for him. Tua is like a big shiny mark for all SEC defenses.

Kittens always have excuses why they lose....must be that water.
The moon was in the wrong phase, coaching sucked, stars didn't align correctly, the local piggy wiggly ran out of mountain dew
and of course the fall back excuse of the refs robbed us.

You can’t hit high. If you do, you get flagged and miss the first half of a game against the next opponent. What to do?

Moxie. Team leader. Always prepared. And 9-0.

And now for some fun....
Joe Burrow in the red zone this season:
36-50 (72.0%)
305 yards
20 TD - 2nd most in the nation
0 Int
255.2 passer efficiency - 3rd best among QBs with 20+ attempts
Led LSU to the most points for an opponent in regulation in Byrant Denny Stadium... ever.
Majority of current mock drafts have Joe Burrow going in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.
Haven't seen any "9" gifs yet.
PS. let me know if I'm being misleading here, Bender The Great
My my, how the turn tables
-Joe Burrow’s 79.5% completion percentage is the highest by any QB that attempted 25+ passes vs a Saban-led Alabama team
-Joe Burrow’s 31 completions are the most in Bryant Denny Stadium vs a Saban-led Alabama team
By this time next year, it is likely Burrow will have more career NFL starts than A.J.
TBD...
-There is only one FBS QB with more passing yards and passing TDs than Joe Burrow this year
-There are 0 FBS QBs with a higher completion percentage than Joe Burrow this year
-As of today, Joe Burrow has 6 wins vs teams that either finished in the AP Top 25 or are currently in the AP Top 25. That is the most among ALL FBS QBs over the last two seasons... 2 more than the next best QB
-In AJ McCarron's 40 starts as a QB, he had 5 games of 300+ yards passing... Joe Burrow has 9 in 22 starts
-In AJ McCarron's career as a starter, he had 9 TOTAL games where he completed 20+ passes... Joe Burrow is currently on a streak of 12 straight games with 20+ completions

He's a shite QB that couldn't even lead his team to score at home in his biggest game last season.
Poors had gameday there and everything.

I like Joe, but you are full of shite but it doesn't even matter because everybody knows Tua will play in the nfl while Joe watches him on tv. Just like LSU players will watch Bama in the playoffs on tv, same as every other year. Coming soon the Bama "9" gifs.

Why not a head to head comparison? Yea...no way to spin that truth.

Burrow is an average QB. LSU can win games with him but will never win a championship of any kind.

No, our QBs know about winning, something your QBs know nothing about.
