Why play Tua?

Sure, you want to go undefeated, who doesnt, but if you are Bama the season goal is a NC. OU lost. The only other legitimate power 5 teams currently ranked outside the top 4 are Penn St and Baylor. Penn st plays Ohio St, so theres your 1 loss for one of those teams and the chances of Baylor running the table through the Big 12 CG are extremely slim. If Tua doesnt play the rest of the regular season then Bama probably drops 1 game. They still might possibly make the SEC CG game with 1 loss and even if not, their chances of making it into the playoffs is extremely high.
Why risk Tua when the odds are highly stacked in your favor to still make a NC run and have him back fully healthy for the playoffs?

Because there is no risk in playing him. He is healthy enough to go. Your suggestion is like saying keep Joe out at LSU so he doesn't get hurt

Because the chances of making the CFP are higher with a win against LSU than without.

Your argument is invalid bc Burrow isnt recovering from a surgically repaired joint. Thats the difference.
Obvously if he is greater than 80% you play him, but you cant risk his career by bringing him back to quickly when the end result could be the same by holding him out and letting him heal

They aren't going to play him unless this is the case.

But, like I said, if he is healthy enough to play, why not play him? I am sure at this point in the season just about every player is nicked up and playing increases the chances to make it worse. Even Burrow right now has been banged around the last few weeks, so do we rest him during the bye week and the Alabama game to make sure he is closer to 100%?

So are Bama fans saying they are not good enough to beat LSU with their backup? Because that would be a major breakthrough.

The chances of beating LSU are much greater with Tua than with Mac Jones, yes. Not really a breakthrough.

Why risk playing Burrow?

Is LSU good enough to beat Bama with their backup?

Believe it or not but these players actually enjoy competing in these types of games. There is a lot of pride between coaches and there is always recruiting...you want to impress the kids.
Honestly I don’t even know why I spent time responding to this...

Doesn't make sense. I don't see a single game Alabama doesn't win with Mac at QB. Putting Tua in could be seen as an insult to other teams, kind of like how passing for a TD, while 50 points ahead and only a minute left on the clock, is an insult.

Bama fans are saying what LSU fans would probably say if LSU was playing their backup QB in the game-- the odds of winning go down drastically. Who is LSU's backup QB?
