I was gonna say 24, but close enough. Sorry, OM Rebears.
I just don't see that happening. AU has played basically every team close. Nothing wrong with that, but with a very average defense, games are just going to be close, no matter if you have superman at QB or not.

I would consider Starkville a hostile environment, they were fired up for that game. Crowd and players included...

I don't see OM's defense really doing a good enough job to stop Newton. Now, if Masoli plays like he's capable of, he may do a good job against AU's secondary, but all in all, I don't think OM has the ability to knock the barn off.
But holy shite, can you imagine the meltdown here if it happened?

Nutt always does better as the underground. Ole Miss put over 500 yards on the Hogs and allowed 100 less than Auburn. This was in Arkansas by the way. Trap game after a tough win?
Here is the current line, if you really feel that Auburn isn't going to cover, then place your wager.
PS: Be sure to let u$ know how it work$ out!

I would say Auburn at Miss State, with Cam Newton at quarterback, for the first SEC game of the year, on ESPN, would qualify as a hostile environment, and much more so than it will be in Oxford on Saturday. JMO.
Are you serious, clark? Much more so?
I didn't realize Davis-Wade = Death Valley.

They will be for sure, but it still won't be that loud. The fanbase here (yes I go to Ole Miss) is pretty numb right now to this season. Maybe a couple years ago it would be hostile, but not this year. It might be loud for 5 minutes but the second Cam Newton breaks one the stadium will shut up.
But I'll be in the student section in costume.

Absolutly. Anyone who attended that game, or who even watched it woudl be foolish to say it wasn't a hostile environment. Are there tougher places to play, sure, but of all the times i've been to starkville (granted all for AU games) that was far and away the loudest most rauckus i had seen the place.

VHS holds what 55k? There will be at least 10-15k AU fans there. How loud can 40k really get? Ga Tech loud?

Yeah I hear ya - it is a night game vs the BCS #1, and Fresno (night game), was by far the best atmosphere. There is plenty of time to pregame and get shitfaced for the rebtard students, and it will definitely be a sellout (a decent amount of orange tho).
As long as we don't shite the bed in the 1st quarter and get down early it should be a fired up crowd the entire game.
After all- our fans have been looking for a reason to cheer all season

I think Auburn will win this game, but it is a perfect trap game. Auburn has faced two straight ranked teams, and they've had to get up for both games. However, both games were at home. Their players are bound to be tired at this point, and all they'll hear about this week is how good they are, not how good their opponent is, which has been the case the past two weeks.
They will be a huge favorite for this game, and it will be hard to get motivated for a team that lost to Jacksonville State. Although Ole Miss is not a good team, I think we will learn something about Auburn's maturity this weekend, and we'll see how well they handle pressure. It's one thing to beat teams as an underdog, or even when a game is considered a tossup. It's quite another to win consistently when you're heavily favored week in and week out.
Houston Nutt has made a career of winning games like this (e.g. #4 Florida in 2008, # 1 LSU in 2007, and, of course, against #3 Auburn in 2006).
He's certainly due for one of his huge trademark upsets, and he doesn't have many games left to pull one off in.
Either way, I see Auburn winning, but, as most of Auburn's games have been this year, it'll be closer than the experts think.

Didn't you say you think DWS is much more intimidating and hostile than VHS?
Much more?
Much more?
