Delusion starts at the top, at the AD level, with these kinds of decisions. It then trickles down to the coaches. This is were the gimmicks come in that allow delusion to trickle down further to: the fans. This is how we ended up with a summer of Phat fricking Phil threads.

They have a Rose Bowl trophy for 25, 26 (Stanford also got one for the tie), 30, and 34. They also have the Rissman (later renanmed the Rockne Memorial) trophy for 34. They have a Cotton Bowl trophy for 41.

Bama doesn't have any trophies for specific awards that they didn't win.
There is no crystal football for 1965 or '78 even though Bama won national championships in both years. Because the championships they won weren't the Coaches poll.

The crystal football has been awarded since 1986. Bama won the Coaches poll in 1992.
