Does Ole Miss have a good recruiting class coming in? I don't really follow their basketball recruiting.

Ole Miss never has a good class coming in, that's the main problem with Kennedy

Kind of surprised that 56th overall is not the worst.

We are too busy supporting our football players, there always isn't enough to go around Eric

We've got a juco PF who was originally a 4* and a 4* PG transfer from Miami coming in. I'm sure Kennedy will snag another graduate transfer this offseason as well

He was recruiting kids to play in a shite chimney. Of course the classes weren't good. He does have an excellent eye for talent though and that's not debatable

Well that sounds promising. Kennedy really seems to load up on the JUCO's and transfers.

In conclusion, State is at it's lowest that it will be under Howland. Ole Miss is in the midst of one of their best 5 year runs in school history.

Ole Miss
12-7 (2-5)
95th RPI
0-1 vs MSU

Mississippi State
8-10 (1-5)
179th RPI
1-0 vs Ole Miss

My honest feeling about it is that Kennedy's success the last couple of seasons was due to the SEC being down as a whole. Now that the coaching talent has increased immensely he is starting to sink back to his records that he had at the beginning of his Ole Miss tenure, and really on paper it will only get worse.

The Pavillion is very nice though and should help him recruit.

The conference is about to have more talent spread across the board than it has had since the early 1990s. That won't help Kennedy and his system.

He will still win games because he is a good coach who brings in good fit guys, but Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, State, Kentucky, LSU, etc will start/continue being more talented than Ole Miss year in and year out.

I think the biggest plus for them building the Pavillion will come in their next coaching search. Should help out a lot there.

Because Rick Ray sucked. He was a terrible hire. I don't care if he's black, white, yellow, green, turd brown, etc. He sucked. He sucks at SEMO. What the hell is wrong with you? I've seen other posts where you make the Ray's black=no support. He had no support because he blows. If 3 years from now Howland teams are sucking, recruiting is garbage, and the program is in the toilet even further, guess what? he'll be canned also. However, I don't see any of that happening.

players

nice recruiting class coming in though
Howland will run circles around some of the coaches in this league if he can bring in talent, Starkville is not exactly Westwood in Los Angeles

2007-08 Ole Miss 24-11
2008-09 Ole Miss 16-15 (3 starters out for the year)
2009-10 Ole Miss 24-11
2010-11 Ole Miss 20-13
2011-12 Ole Miss 20-13
2012-13 Ole Miss 27-9 SEC Champs, NCAA 3rd
2013-14 Ole Miss 20-13
2014-15 Ole Miss 21-13 NCAA 3rd Round

This stretch was in Tad Smith Coliseum, mind you. Andy Kennedy will wreck shite with the talent he'll bring to the Pavilion
