It was a single sheet of paper "inadvertantly" dropped on the floor of the Cotton Bowl where a sharp-eyed graduate assistant noticed it and showed it to a coach who then forwarded it to the Defensive Coordinator in the press box.
Apparently, the ruse worked, for a quarter anyway as Oklahoma built a 17-0 lead before the DC tossed the paper in the trash and went back to calling the defense based on what they prepared for instead of that piece of paper.
