2009 Capital One Bowl:
Field conditions due to the rain negated LSU's speed advantage at the skill positions and played to Penn State's strengths, their power running game.

2011 National Title Game:
This game being a rematch certainly gave Alabama a mental edge, but in no way excuses the team's uncharacteristically flat performance. Something had to have happened between the players and coaches before the game. The defensive linemen had hands on their hips, winded and beaten, on the first snap from scrimmage. Hopefully, someday we'll get a 30 for 30 special that will tell all.

2012 Chick-fil-a Bowl:
Another team that matched up well with LSU. Clemson was an underrated team that wanted to be in that game to show what they could do. LSU was a team that really didn't want to be in Atlanta. LSU fans were shocked that they weren't playing in a better bowl game and Atlanta isn't special anymore. LSU still played a heck of a game, though. This one came down to the wire, but it went to the team that wanted it just a little bit more. Props to Clemson.

Not a hook, but I appreciate your answers nevertheless. So my follow on question is, at what point are you concerned that this is no longer a series of unfortunate events, but a pattern?

It was a monsoon on grass. Neither team played well and then Penn St. played less shitty.

To be fair, Penn St is the one program that was trained in tackling boys in slippery situations.

Spoken like a true aggie.

The only loss of the 3 that bothered me was the championship for obvious reasons

The other two bowl games I was at the point where I didn't even really care how it turned out. Call me spoiled.

But yeah, I'd rather see LSU win these games...

LSU AM game to close the 2010 season was a shlacking. AM was never a threat to win that game outside of the first 10 minutes of the game.

Fair enough.

LSU will no doubt have the record to secure another top bowl invite this year. I'm interested to see how it plays out with a high powered offense leading the way this time instead of an insane D.

The bigger question should be..Why do they keep dropping a game to a lessor talented SECe team the last couple years? That would be concerning IF I was a LSU fan. Opinions?

Wat?

You bake your cookies in a bowl? I don't get it. I know you beat eggs in a bowl but not cookies.

The last time LSU did this was in 2007. Every loss to an SEC East team since then has been to a relatively even matchup, or them simply being better.
