That's a booth for Circle K. It's the college version of the Kiwanis Club.

Its one of the stupidist things I have seen in college football. The Black Bears? Really?

Ole Miss is making the whole SEC look bad with this Conf USA bullshite name.

I predict that it will eventually evolve into Rebel the Bear.

There are absolutely no racial undertones to that one

That looks like it might considered as racist as the Miss Black America Pageant, the Congressional Black Caucus, or Black History Month.

Ok...

I'm not sure if you noticed but that's not Col Reb. It's Eastern Kentucky's mascot. Apparently it went over your head.

Smoky 'the' Bear was officially changed to Smoky Bear so maybe it is a government thing.

I for one think "Blackie" the Black Bear is a great mascot for you guys. I think the kids will love him and recruiting will soar.

Here's to "Blackie"!!!

Why can't the bear be judged on his character, and not the color of his pelt?

They should make it look like Colonel Reb in a half-arse black bear suit.

Why did they bring the Black thing in?

The Black Bear is native to the South. There is a Faulkner story about one. Teddy Roosevelt refused to shoot one on a hunt in either Louisiana or Mississippi, hence the "Teddy Bear."

Who knows. They apparently have been having issues with the correct color on some of the test images. They may never get it figured out.

I like Admiral Akbar. "The Mississippi Mudcats" sound like something that would elicit a loud Rebel yell! There was probably a Civil War unit named the mudcats.

This whole debacle has been fun to watch. First we have to force schools to change their Native American names and now Ole Miss is being forced to change it's Rebel mascot. Nation of pussies. Hope the younger generations have more nads than the present ones.
