Bama is the number 1 seed. New Orleans is closest site. Why are they playing in the Rose Bowl and not Clemson?

Bama chose the venue that allowed more spectators.

More fans can attend the game in Arlington than can in New Orleans.

Because one is allowing ~18,000 people and you can buy tickets online

The other one is allowing ~3,000 people and you have to be family to go

Arlington has better venue, better area, and holds more fans. I think it was 16000 fans vs 3000 fans.

Plus, likely some superstition, Bama beat MSU in the 2015 season's Cotton Bowl semi and then beat Clemson in the finals. 2015 was last year Bama won both the SEC and. NC in the same year

Louisiana is a dump, but New Orleans is a special place. The Super Dome is still rocking those 20inch CRT TV's from the 90's as their replay screens, though. If it ain't broke!

So how does that work? The selection committee calls the AD of the number one ranked team and ask where they want to play before the selection show on ESPN?

LaToya accidentally did New Orleans a favor by not allowing Gumps to teabag Notre Dame fans at Krystal after they whip the Irish.

Yes. That’s why Alabama chose the Orange Bowl in 2018 when they played Oklahoma. The Cotton Bowl would have been a “home game” for OU.
