I dont' know why it sticks in my mind so much, but I'll NEVER forget the 04 southern game in Athens in the season opener. We won by 20 but on my way back to the car there was a huge jacked up truck full of southern students (typical) that were yelling at passerbys "yall couldn't even cover the spread!"

You pretty much nailed it on the Southern bit.
I think there is a similar explanation for the KSU students/grads being UGA fans. There are more UGA fans in Cobb Co/Gwinnett Co (and Metro Atlanta in general) than any other two counties in the state. UGA cannot possibly accept all of those fans to UGA even if their credentials are better and scores are higher than some applicants in other areas of the state because it works hard (not always successfully) to have its student body reflect the demographics of the rest of the state (since we're the flagship university). That leaves a lot of qualified individuals from those two counties out of luck.
If they want to stay in GA, where do they turn? Most kids I know from Cobb/Gwinnett aren't enamored with Southern, West GA, or Valdosta...so KSU is the reasonable alternative option.

Not quite true. I got in state tuition to go to Auburn but decided I wanted to go to the better academic institution. I would say that more wealthy kids do go to Auburn than UGA percentage wise from the state, but that's because most kids that don't get into Georgia and don't have the wealth that some of the Auburn enrollees have end up at GSU, West Ga, GCSU, KSU, or Ga Southern instead.

Since you missed it the first time NYC. A Bammer explained it for ya.
To be fair, Fairley was playing pretty dirty that day.

It's clear that he hits him well after the ball is thrown, and actively spears him in the back.
There were quite a few dirty plays, including #45 punching Murray during a fumble recovery.
To be fair, when Fox Sports is running segments talking about how dirty a college player is, there's probably at least SOME truth to that.

I don't really have a dog in this fight, but Fairley was a stain on the SEC. It's good that he's gone, and it's a shame he was allowed to actively attempt to injure a player for an entire game.

I guess you were not at the game. UGA played pretty damn dirty in that game and the reason UGA cleared their bench was because they just chop blocked and shite got started.
