To down play a game like last year and compare it to 2011 or 2012 is nonsense. The 2013 Iron Bowl was for a chance to win the SEC and play for a BCS title. Everyone knew it and the ending was among one of the greatest in college football history. It is the reason the melt is still occurring, the awards were won, and people remember it more than a last second drive to win a national title.
Both Auburn and Alabama have a lot to be proud of…Bama puts a lot of stock in the titles as they should, but Auburn has 3 seasons in the last 30 years that would have won a title if the same season had Bama's name next to it. We can't control the popularity contest.
